Associate Professor Dr. Vu Van Quan, currently working at the Department of History, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, is the former Head of the Department of History and Director of the Center for Research and Promotion of Cultural Resources at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Since 2002, when Hanoi was undertaking numerous activities to commemorate the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi, Associate Professor Dr. Vu Van Quan organized a research group comprising staff from the Department of History, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the Institute of Vietnamese Studies and Development Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, to conduct extensive research on the history and culture of Thang Long - Hanoi, including both basic and applied research. Over the years, Associate Professor Dr. Vu Van Quan, along with the leadership of the Department of History, has strongly promoted the establishment of various levels of training in Cultural Studies (opening postgraduate programs in Vietnamese Cultural History and Cultural Management, and especially a Bachelor's degree program in Cultural Studies). Besides basic research, over the years, Associate Professor Dr. Vu Van Quan has led an applied research group on culture focusing on the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage, strengthening cooperation with localities such as Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Bac Ninh, etc., achieving initial results that have been well-received by partners, opening up prospects for expanding cooperation with many localities nationwide.

- Research and development of the National Geographical Encyclopedia of Vietnam: History Volume, NVQC.19.08, Task of Building the National Geographical Encyclopedia of Vietnam, implementation period: 2021-2023.
