The articles in this issue focus on philosophical, educational, literary, sociological, psychological, and international studies aspects.
Nguyen Kim SonThrough his research on "The Theory of the Unity of the Three Religions," Trinh Tue discusses the integration of the Three Religions' ideas. Through analysis and explanation, the author points out the characteristics of the integration of the Three Religions in the 18th century in particular and in Vietnamese history in general.
From an educational and sociological perspective,Le Ngoc HungThis section presents several new concepts related to inclusive, sustainable development and education for all. This is the main content in the process of restructuring education-based development models, from a resource-based breadth to an efficiency-based depth. Following the same approach to education, from the perspective of values education,Truong Quang LamThis study, conducted in Hanoi, discusses and clarifies the differences and similarities between parental values of education and values that children strive for in current child education activities in Vietnam.
Hoang Cam GiangThrough the profound renewal of Vietnamese literature in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, we examine two phenomena—rewriting history and satirizing history—as a process of postmodernizing contemporary novels in a spirit of skepticism towards "grand narratives." Within the same literary approach,Nguyen Thu HienThis article presents a perspective on the landscape of contemporary Chinese literary translation in Vietnam during the 30 years of the Doi Moi (Renovation) period (1986-2016). The author emphasizes the differences in literary criteria used in selecting translation projects between academic translators and those catering to popular tastes, highlighting how this difference influences and guides the reception of translations by Vietnamese readers.Tran Van TrongThe author portrays Guan Yu's character as a historical figure, transforming him into a literary one. This change in character development also implies a shift in the socio-cultural and ideological context.Tran Thuy AnhThrough the study of Malay pantun poetry, pairs of antonyms have been identified that create contrasting structures in the expression of content, thus revealing the educational and didactic values of this art form.
The discussion section consists of three articles.Nguyen Thanh Binh and Nguyen Minh TuanAnalyze the category of "Trust" in pre-Qin Confucianism and identify three implications of this category in the study and teaching of Confucianism.Hoang Khac NamThis paper analyzes and discusses Critical Theory and the issues it raises for teaching and researching International Relations in Vietnam today.Tran Bach Hieu and Nguyen Van TrungThis paper discusses China's position in the East Asian political landscape over the past decade. The authors identify the research problem within the changing geopolitical structure of the region, examining the differences and transformations in the relationship between China and the United States, as well as the country's position in relation to the United States, Japan, and ASEAN.
