Associate Professor, Meritorious Teacher Vuong Dinh Quyen and the journey of laying the foundation for the field of Archival Studies.
Born in 1935 in Nam Dan, Nghe An province, after graduating from the Archival and History department at Hanoi University in 1968, Professor Vuong Dinh Quyen became one of the first generation of faculty members involved in building and developing archival studies training. With nearly half a century dedicated to education and training, he is remembered by many generations of students not only for his knowledge and lectures, but also for his dedication, responsibility, and enduring love for the profession he chose.
From 1970 to 1992, he served as the Head of the Department of Archival Studies. Notably, he persistently campaigned for the establishment of the Faculty of Archival and Records Management in June 1996 – the predecessor of the current Faculty of Archival Studies and Office Management.
These enduring contributions were recognized when he was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 1992 and the title of Excellent Teacher in 2000.
From the first classes, the textbooks, the generations of students, to the birth and growth of a specialized department, the mark of the teacher from those days is still present in the journey of the Luu-Quan school today.
