On December 18, 2025, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, held the Parent-Teacher Conference for the 2025-2029 cohort, marking the first time the university implemented a direct dialogue model between the university leadership and parents. The conference not only provided information about educational activities but also clearly demonstrated the university's commitment to building a close collaborative relationship between the university and families in supporting students' proactive learning and development.
Training linked to the holistic development of students: a shared responsibility of schools and families.
In his opening remarks at the conference, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, expressed his sincere gratitude to the parents for their trust and support throughout the students' education. Rector Hoang Anh Tuan emphasized that parents have the right to know and understand the training process, so that they can accompany and support their children in their studies and careers.
The school's organization of the first Parent Conference stems from the practical needs of current training practices, where the collaboration between the school and families plays an increasingly important role in supporting students in a practical, timely, and effective manner. The strong bond between parents, students, and the school, both during their studies and after graduation, is also a measure of the school's sustainable development.

At the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Hong Son - Vice Rector of the University - presented the strategic direction in student training at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, especially for the K70 cohort. According to Associate Professor Dr. Dang Hong Son, basic science disciplines are not only the academic foundation of the University but also core disciplines of national higher education, contributing to the formation of intellectuals, experts, scientists, managers, and leaders of social development.
The university's educational goals extend beyond simply equipping students with specialized knowledge; they aim for the holistic development of students' abilities, enabling them to adapt, innovate, and proactively respond to the rapid changes in modern society. In addition to improving the quality of education and scientific research, the university places particular emphasis on internationalizing its training activities, expanding courses taught in foreign languages, strengthening student exchange programs, and providing students with early exposure to the international academic environment.

In line with the university's overall direction, representatives from various faculties and institutes directly discussed the specifics of each field of study with parents. The discussions focused on clarifying the structure of the training programs, specialization orientations, and career opportunities for graduates. Many topics of particular interest to parents concerned fields such as psychology, journalism and communication, literature and arts, Oriental studies, and philosophy. Through these discussions, all training units agreed that university education cannot be separated from the support of families, especially in helping students overcome psychological challenges, career orientation, and personal development.
Genuine collaboration and connection between the school, parents, and students.
Besides discussing academic disciplines, the conference devoted considerable time to discussing practical issues directly related to students' learning process. Dr. Dinh Tien Hieu, Head of the Training and Student Affairs Department, provided an overview of the learning process, training regulations, graduation requirements, and expanded learning opportunities such as courses taught in foreign languages, dual degree programs, international student exchange programs, scientific research, and pre-master's studies.
In particular, issues related to scholarships and student support policies received significant attention from parents. Representatives from the Department of Training and Student Affairs clarified the types of scholarships available, including those sponsored by organizations and individuals both domestically and internationally, thereby affirming the university's efforts to create conditions for students to study and develop their abilities with peace of mind.

Another important point emphasized at the Conference was strengthening the connection between the University, students, and their families. Representatives from the faculties stated that the faculty members and academic advisors always play a core role in closely monitoring students' learning and development; at the same time, the University encourages parents to proactively exchange information with training units when necessary, in order to provide timely support to students during difficult periods.
In his concluding remarks at the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Hong Son affirmed that the university had fully received the parents' feedback and would continue to discuss and address it through relevant departments. In the spirit of cooperation, partnership, and sharing, the university hopes to work with families to create a healthy and humane learning environment, helping students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities complete their training programs with the highest quality, graduate confidently, and contribute to society as soon as possible.
