Thursday - December 11, 2025 01:35
(Justice Newspaper) The University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) recently collaborated with the Dao Minh Quang Foundation (Federal Republic of Germany) to organize a training course for lecturers on entrepreneurship. The program aims to enhance the teaching capacity of lecturers in entrepreneurship in the context of Vietnamese higher education strongly promoting innovation and considering entrepreneurship as a driving force for the development of the knowledge economy.
Developing teaching competencies and entrepreneurial thinking in higher education.
The training course for instructors on entrepreneurship is a key activity under the "Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Start-up" Project in Vietnam, modeled after the German model, which the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) signed with the Dao Minh Quang Foundation on November 13, 2023.

Based on the cooperation agreement between USSH and the Dao Minh Quang Foundation, the Foundation will fund this project for 4-5 years at USSH. Specifically, the project activities include: Research, compilation of course modules, learning materials, and teaching curricula; and conducting practical training courses in the field of sustainable entrepreneurship and starting a business for students and trainees aged 20-35.
This year's training course, held over 9 days (from December 1st to December 9th), attracted more than 100 applications from universities nationwide, with 50 participants selected. These participants are lecturers, researchers, experts, and training officers from within and outside Hanoi National University – the core force that will disseminate entrepreneurial knowledge back to training units.

The training program includes a series of in-depth lectures: Overview of entrepreneurship in higher education; Design Thinking; Tools for creating and evaluating ideas; Business Model Canvas; Value Proposition Canvas; Market research - target customers; Finance and startup planning; The startup ecosystem in universities.
In particular, the training course emphasizes the development of entrepreneurship pedagogical skills through a "Teaching Lab" session, where participants directly design and present lesson plans to a panel of experts for feedback. This method creates a hands-on teaching experience, helping to strengthen pedagogical skills and ensuring feasibility when implementing entrepreneurship courses in higher education institutions.
A highlight of the "Sustainable Career Development and Entrepreneurship" project, funded by the Dao Minh Quang Foundation, is the application of a practical training model from the Federal Republic of Germany. Instead of simply equipping participants with theoretical knowledge, the project focuses on developing the capacity to form and operate sustainable businesses based on innovation, helping participants gradually approach international training standards in entrepreneurial thinking.
"The highlight and novelty that makes the project unique is the integration of music into the training program. This is an innovative approach initiated by the Dao Minh Quang Foundation, stemming from the Foundation's tradition of supporting the development of music and culture. Music is incorporated as a tool to stimulate creative thinking and increase inspiration, thereby supporting learners to approach entrepreneurship with an open mind, greater motivation, and more creativity," Dr. Dao Minh Quang further shared.
Alongside the specialized training, the course introduced many practical experiences through experts such as Dr. Hoang Thi Hai Yen, Dr. Dam Quang Thang, Dr. Nguyen Thi Nam Hoang, Ms. Truong Thu Ha, Ms. Phan Hong Giang, Mr. Nguyen Duc Vinh (STG), Mr. Tran Van Lich (VISIA), Dr. Tran Huy Tung (Banking Academy)...
The distinguishing feature of the training course under the "Sustainable Career and Entrepreneurship" Project, modeled after the Federal Republic of Germany and which the Dao Minh Quang Foundation wishes to implement in collaboration with many higher education institutions in Vietnam, primarily USSH, is its emphasis on practical application and interaction through the participation of reputable experts from businesses, entrepreneurship support organizations, and researchers from USSH, along with successful alumni entrepreneurs.

Through academic exchanges, lectures, and group activities, students are introduced to and co-created many new methods, approaches, and sources of inspiration to integrate entrepreneurship education into training programs in a vibrant, practical, and effective way. This also provides an opportunity to expand the network connecting universities, businesses, and the entrepreneurial community, creating a foundation for the formation of an entrepreneurial ecosystem within universities.
"The Heart" in entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education.
Having directly taught at several specialized training sessions, Dr. Dao Minh Quang emphasized the viewpoint that, in his opinion, the core principle in entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education is "integrity" or "sincerity." He explained that to establish a sustainable business and entrepreneurship, one must start with pure motives, a spirit of sharing, and a sense of creating value for the community.
Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU Hanoi), expressed his gratitude to Dr. Dao Minh Quang and the Dao Minh Quang Foundation (Federal Republic of Germany) for their effective collaboration and partnership in implementing the "Sustainable Career Development and Entrepreneurship" Project. Drawing from his career experiences in Germany, where he faced numerous challenges, Dr. Dao Minh Quang believes that entrepreneurship education cannot simply focus on teaching skills, but must also cultivate a sense of responsibility, service and dedication, honesty, and kindness.
These are the qualities that form the foundation of modern-day entrepreneurs, enabling them to develop sustainably in a globally competitive environment. This philosophy also serves as a guiding principle throughout the educational projects implemented by the Dao Minh Quang Foundation, aiming for holistic human development, harmonizing knowledge, skills, and professional ethics.
Notably, in a thematic session within the training course, Dr. Dao Minh Quang guided participants from creative thinking to business models, further affirming that the human element is the foundation of sustainable entrepreneurship according to the German training standards.
Following the course, many participants expressed a desire to maintain long-term connections with experts, continue receiving in-depth consultations, or collaborate on research, thereby expanding their innovation networks both domestically and internationally. These positive responses demonstrate that the project has initially created a widespread impact within the university faculty community.

Lecturers from the Faculty of Management Science, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, participated in teaching at the training course.
At the closing ceremony of the training course, participants who completed the program were awarded certificates; they also had the opportunity to present practical lectures and discuss methods for integrating entrepreneurship content into teaching at their respective institutions. These initial results show that the training course not only equipped participants with knowledge and skills but also contributed to the formation of a core team of lecturers capable of spreading the spirit of entrepreneurship in a humane and sustainable way within the higher education system.
Evaluating this year's training course, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, emphasized that implementing the "Sustainable Career Development and Entrepreneurship" project based on the German practical training model is a necessary step to improve the quality of entrepreneurship training in universities. He believes that this model helps lecturers and students access international standards for sustainable business development, aligning with the innovation orientation that Vietnamese higher education is pursuing.
Professor Hoang Anh Tuan also highly appreciated the creativity of the Dao Minh Quang Foundation in integrating music into the project - a new approach that contributes to nurturing inspiration, enhancing thinking skills, and creating sustainable motivation for learners on their career journey.
On behalf of the Dao Minh Quang Foundation, Dr. Dao Minh Quang affirmed that the Foundation will continue to support the process of perfecting the entrepreneurship curriculum and expanding the training model in the future. With the strong cooperation between the two sides, the "Sustainable Career Development and Entrepreneurship" Project is expected to continue spreading knowledge, nurturing the spirit of innovation, and contributing to the formation of a generation of young entrepreneurs with modern thinking, strong character, and a high sense of responsibility towards the community.
Trainees were awarded certificates upon completion of the training course.
