FROM TRADITION
One of the greatest assets of the Faculty of Literature is its proud and long-standing tradition. This tradition is reflected in the names of leading scholars in each field of Literature and Sino-Vietnamese studies over more than half a century.
The Faculty of Literature's knowledge and direct contributions to Vietnamese higher education are first and foremost concretized through its rich system of textbooks covering all disciplines such as Literary Theory, Folklore, Vietnamese Literature, Western Literature, Russian Literature, Classical Chinese, and Classical Chinese in Vietnam. These textbooks have been reprinted dozens of times over the decades and used for teaching in numerous universities nationwide. To this day, many of these textbooks remain considered irreplaceable in many fields.

Furthermore, the Faculty of Literature boasts a vast collection of hundreds of specialized monographs, continuously updated by successive generations of scholars. This extensive and in-depth body of textbooks and dissertations, always at the forefront of the nation's scientific development, has contributed to the Faculty of Literature maintaining its prominent position throughout history.
TO THE MODERN ERA
Currently, the majority of the faculty members of the Faculty of Literature are from the 70s, 80s, and 90s generations. This generation of lecturers is shouldering the responsibility of both maintaining the traditions painstakingly built by previous generations and meeting the very different challenges and demands of modern education. The Faculty of Literature is actively working to develop a new curriculum system that combines the legacy of previous generations with the innovative achievements of modern scientific research.
Amidst the ongoing trend of promoting international publications and academic exchange at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, as well as in the entire national science sector, the faculty members of the Faculty of Literature recognize that they cannot remain outside the times. With a proactive and adaptable spirit, the faculty members have achieved initial successes with journal articles and monographs published in many countries around the world in various languages, from Chinese and English to French and Russian. However, the Faculty of Literature also does not forget its responsibility to contribute to the development of the national social sciences and humanities, demonstrated by the continuous publication of specialized monographs to maintain its position as one of the leading research and teaching institutions in Literature and Sino-Vietnamese studies in the country.
Over the past ten years, while veteran lecturers over 50 years old, still in their prime, continue to assert their key roles through highly acclaimed scientific works, younger lecturers have also begun to demonstrate promising professional potential through a series of research projects highly regarded for their modernity and adherence to the latest research trends of the era. The aforementioned works have demonstrated the scientific capabilities of the current and future generations of the Faculty of Literature, instilling confidence in the continuation of the glorious traditions of the Faculty of Linguistics and Literature - University of Hanoi of yesteryear, and instilling confidence in the ability to adapt and successfully transform within the challenging context of modern education and training.
The Faculty of Literature emerges from a tradition of rigorous scientific work ethic, considering tradition as the strongest foundation and resource for adapting to professional demands in the new era.
