FROM TRADITION
One of the greatest assets of the Faculty of Literature is its proud tradition. That tradition is reflected in the names of leading scientists in each field of Literature and Han Nom over more than half a century.
The crystallization of knowledge and direct contributions of the Faculty of Literature to Vietnamese higher education are first and foremost concretized through a rich system of textbooks covering all majors such as Literary Theory, Folklore, Vietnamese Literature, Western Literature, Russian Literature, Chinese Literature and Vietnamese Chinese Literature. These textbooks have been reprinted dozens of times over many decades and are used for teaching at many higher education institutions across the country. Up to now, many of these textbooks are still considered irreplaceable in many fields.
In addition, the Faculty of Literature also has a system of hundreds of rich monographs that are continuously updated by scientists of successive generations over time. The system of textbooks and monographs with a large number, in depth, always at the forefront of every change in the country's science has contributed to helping the Faculty of Literature maintain its position through the ups and downs of history.
TO MODERN
Currently, the majority of the faculty members of the Faculty of Literature are from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Today's generation of lecturers is shouldering the responsibility of both maintaining the traditions that previous generations have worked hard to cultivate and meeting the very different challenges and requirements of modern education. The plan to build a new curriculum system in the direction of combining the legacy of previous generations with the innovative achievements of modern scientific research in recent times is being vigorously realized by the Faculty of Literature.
Amidst the trend of constantly promoting international publications and international academic exchanges of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities as well as of the entire national science, the lecturers of the Faculty of Literature realize that they cannot stand outside the current situation. With a positive spirit and proactive adaptation, the lecturers of the Faculty have achieved initial successes with journal articles and monographs published in many countries around the world in many different languages, from Chinese, English to French, Russian. However, besides that, the Faculty of Literature also does not forget its responsibility to contribute to the development of the country's social sciences and humanities, demonstrated through the continuous publication of specialized monographs to always maintain its position as one of the leading research and teaching institutions for Literature and Han Nom in the country.
In the past ten years, while veteran lecturers over the age of 50 are in their prime and continue to assert their key roles through their highly acclaimed scientific works, lecturers of the younger generation have also begun to demonstrate their promising professional potential through a series of research works that are highly appreciated for their modernity and updating of the latest research trends of the times. Just counting the monographs of young lecturers, we can name the works in the following fields:

- Foreign literature:The Master and Margarita (M. The above works have demonstrated the scientific capacity of the current and future generations of the Faculty of Literature, bringing confidence in the continuation of the glorious traditions of the Faculty of Literature - the former General University, bringing confidence in the ability to adapt and successfully transform in the challenging context of modern education and training.
The Faculty of Literature comes from the tradition of serious scientific work spirit, considering tradition as the strongest support and resource to adapt to professional requirements in the new era.
