Le Nguyen Hai Van's love for Oriental Studies began in 9th grade and that love is as simple as Hai Van herself. She confided that after reading the book "I Choose a Career", Hai Van's impression was only three words Oriental Studies.

Leaving the beautiful city of Da Nang, far from family and friends, Hai Van went to Hanoi to pursue her dream. Indology is a difficult subject, with very few documents in Vietnamese, but Hai Van achieved a perfect score of 10/10 for her graduation thesis, becoming one of the three valedictorians of the Faculty of Oriental Studies this year with a total score of 3.67. She also won an excellent student exchange scholarship at the National University of Singapore.

Having such good academic results is thanks to Hai Van setting her own goals and having a reasonable learning method. "I am against studying without going out, in my opinion, if you want to study well, you must first create a comfortable mindset, then when you sit down to study, you must really concentrate", Van confided. Le Nguyen Hai Van's experience in doing scientific research (NCKH), theses, and essays for students is: When doing an assignment, you must find documents, translate the documents, and then arrange the writing in a reasonable way, so you will be more proactive in receiving knowledge and also remember the lesson longer. Like many other young people, Hai Van considers herself a rather playful person, but she puts all her efforts into the last minute.

When asked: “If you use one word to describe yourself, what would it be?”, Hai Van smiled and said: “Lucky. I feel really lucky in every way. I have a warm family, full of laughter, and my parents support all my decisions. I don’t have many friends, but they are all my close friends. Even though we haven’t seen each other for a year or two, when we meet again, it seems like there has never been any geographical distance.”

The four months of exchange study at the National University of Singapore were the most memorable time of her four years of university. In the land of the Lion, international students are required to participate in volunteer activities to write a report with pictures, and Hai Van was no exception. Hai Van confided that she had also participated in many joint programs between the Faculty of Oriental Studies and the Embassies of other countries, as well as participating in translating films and screening films for students in the school during her first and second years. Hai Van was very happy to be able to return to those meaningful movement activities in the last semester of her student life. The biggest "gain" for Hai Van was that she got to know many foreign friends and learned many more skills for herself.

Hai Van received her Bachelor of Science degree with honors at the Graduation Ceremony on July 1, 2013.

When talking about the process of participating in scientific research and writing the graduation thesis (KLTN), Hai Van said: "The biggest difficulty is that there are not many documents for this field of study. I took advantage of the opportunity of the exchange semester in Singapore to find more documents in English for my KLTN". As a result, with 80 reference documents in English, along with her knowledge, Hai Van surprised the entire KLTN evaluation board that day.

Hai Van’s idols are none other than her parents – the people who have a direct influence on her personality and decisions. She is currently applying for a scholarship to study for a Master’s degree in India and dreams of becoming a lecturer like her parents after graduation. In life, Hai Van’s role model is a woman who is both dynamic and creative at work and also responsible and takes care of her family.
