After more than a month of implementation, the Student Union and Student Association of the Faculty of Linguistics, under the Youth Union and Student Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, successfully organized the "Green Summer 2024 - Northern Flower Region's Winds" campaign, bringing a truly "green" summer to students at Cao Bo Semi-Boarding Primary and Secondary School in Cao Bo commune, Vi Xuyen district, Ha Giang province.
From June 23rd to July 28th, 2024, the campaign implemented many meaningful activities, from fundraising and volunteer recruitment to building libraries, painting murals, and giving gifts. The students of the Faculty of Linguistics worked tirelessly to bring a truly memorable summer to the students here.
Here are some of the highlights of "Wind of the Northern Flower Region" during their trip to Ha Giang:
- Phase 1: From June 23rd to July 25th, 2024: Fundraising for charity, recruiting collaborators, and assigning specific implementation tasks.
- Phase 2: From July 26th to July 28th, 2024: The campaign was implemented at Cao Bo Semi-Boarding Primary and Secondary School, completing the following donation items:
+ Donating 1 youth project, "Humanities Bookcase," worth 50,000,000 VND;
+ Donated 1 youth project: a mural painting titled "Helping Children Go to School," valued at 2,500,000 VND;
+ Donated 10 gifts worth 5,000,000 VND each to students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have shown great effort in their studies;
+ Donated medical equipment including face masks, hand sanitizer, and thermometers to the school;
+ Donated 6 public trash cans worth 5,700,000 VND;
+ Donated 606 sets of school supplies.
- Phase 3: From July 29th to July 31st, 2024: Campaign summary and thank-you message to sponsors.
Besides the main activities such as donating youth projects and gifts to students and the Cao Bo Ethnic Minority Boarding Primary and Secondary School, the campaign's volunteer team also had the opportunity to visit the National Martyrs' Cemetery in Vi Xuyen district to pay tribute to the contributions of the older generation who sacrificed their lives to preserve the peace we enjoy today.
In addition, volunteers also carried out activities to raise awareness among the people of Cao Bo commune about recycling and waste treatment, clearing and cleaning up the surrounding living areas to create a greener, cleaner, and more beautiful environment; organizing summer activities, playing games, and making bubble tea for students…
Continuing the spirit of "mutual support and compassion," the "Wind of the Northern Flower Region" campaign created a beautiful picture of love and sharing. We hope that in future campaigns, the Student Union and Student Association of the Faculty of Linguistics will continue to work together to contribute to the school's volunteer movement, organizing more meaningful campaigns and contributing to helping underprivileged children across the country.
