Having won second prize in the National Geography Olympiad for gifted students, Ninh My Hang was directly admitted to the Japanese Studies program, Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi. She hopes to have the opportunity to promote Vietnamese culture to the people in the future.
Ninh My Hang was born and raised in Lang Che hamlet, Dan Tien commune, Vo Nhai district, Thai Nguyen province, in a farming family. Her parents had to work in the fields and take on extra jobs to earn money to support Hang and her sister's education. Not wanting to disappoint her parents, Hang always strived to achieve the best results in her studies. After finishing junior high school, she passed the entrance exam to Viet Bac Highland School, where she received preferential policies and support from the government, easing the financial burden of her education on her family.
Hang said: "My dream is to travel around the world, explore and learn about the cultures of different countries. That's why I really enjoy studying Geography to learn about new lands. This is also one of the reasons why I always get high scores in Geography."
"Being honored at this awards ceremony makes me very happy and proud because my efforts have been recognized. This is also a gift to express my gratitude to my teachers, family, and friends who have helped me achieve high results in my studies," Hang shared.
