Giving gifts to student Pham Thien Ha, majoring in Public Relations - University of Social Sciences and Humanities

Due to the impact of storm No. 6, many areas were buried and landslides caused many people to go missing and get injured. Among them, the Rao Trang 3 Hydropower Plant is located in Phong Xuan Commune, Phong Dien District (Thua Thien Hue). During the rescue mission, due to the flood from upstream, 13 officers and soldiers in the Operation Team were buried underground and died, including journalist Pham Van Huong. The journalist died while his two children were still in school age, and his family's circumstances were extremely difficult.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu acknowledged and thanked the valuable sentiments of the units. On behalf of the University, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu shared that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will waive tuition fees for Pham Thien Ha until Thien Ha graduates.

Organizations and groups presented gifts to the two martyr sisters Pham Van Huong as follows:

Trade Union, Youth Union and Women's Union of the Central Organizing Committee: 20 million VND  

Provincial Youth Union - Young Entrepreneurs Association of Thai Binh province: 20 million VND  

Vietnam Student Support and Development Center and Vietnam Student Support and Development Fund: 5 million VND  

Mr. Dam Quang Tuan - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Quang Thien Minh Investment - Construction - Trading Joint Stock Company - 125 million VND

Mr. Dam Quang Tuan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Quang Thien Minh Investment - Construction - Trading Joint Stock Company, presented a scholarship worth 125 million VND to Pham Hoang Anh (second daughter of martyr Pham Van Huong) disbursed annually from 2020 when she was in grade 12 until the end of university.

Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the School - Director of the Institute of Journalism and Communication - the unit where Pham Thien Ha is studying, shared: The School and the Institute deeply share the pain and great loss of student Thien Ha and her family. She commented that Journalism is a noble profession but also extremely dangerous. The Institute, teachers and students will always stand side by side and help Thien Ha overcome all difficulties ahead.
