
Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Vice Rector in charge of the University, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. He conveyed a message to the students of USSH: "The digital society can only be stable when built on a foundation of 'digital humanism'." In the context of rapidly changing industries and professions in today's uncertain world, the Vice Rector hoped that the students would focus on equipping themselves with an ecosystem of essential competencies to adapt well to all changes and succeed in the future. These are the four basic components: Extensive knowledge, positive attitude, diverse skills, and lifelong learning habits.

Professor Nguyen Tien Thao, Vice Head of the Training Department of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, stated at the opening ceremony: "Regardless of the space or time, social norms, ethics, and humanistic values always endure through all ages. And here, you have become students, studying, researching, accumulating knowledge, and experiencing life in the environment of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, with its rich 75-year tradition. You stand before the opportunity to conquer the heights of knowledge and surpass yourselves. We will join hands, united in solidarity, to build and develop the University to be worthy of its humanistic tradition; so that humanism and the spirit of compassion not only remain within the campus but also spread to the wider community and society."

The 2020-2021 academic year took place in a unique context compared to previous years: a prolonged pandemic and severe natural disasters in the central region of Vietnam forced higher education institutions nationwide to struggle to ensure enrollment and training quality.

In the midst of these difficulties and challenges, the faculty and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities united and strived to successfully achieve their goals: completing the spring semester and concluding the 2019-2020 academic year successfully, resulting in the graduation of over 1,000 students; and fulfilling the 2020 enrollment plans, welcoming nearly 500 trainees and researchers, and over 2,000 new students.

The school awarded prizes to 12 top-scoring students in the 2020 entrance exam; 71 students who achieved excellent academic results; 72 students with outstanding achievements in Youth Union and Student Association activities; and 61 students who overcame difficulties to excel in their studies.



BIDV Bank and Danko Group have awarded scholarships to humanities students who have achieved excellent academic and personal development results in the past academic year.
