University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi

On the occasion of the Day of Honoring the Vietnamese Language in the Overseas Vietnamese Community - promulgated by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 930/QD-TTg dated August 3, 2022 - the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) carried out a meaningful cultural diplomacy activity.

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (1976–2026), Thammasat University (TU), in collaboration with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH), organized an international scientific conference and launched the book "Five Decades of Thailand – Vietnam Diplomatic Relations: History, Society, Culture, and Cooperation 1976-2026".

Beyond classroom learning of Vietnamese, international students at the Faculty of Linguistics and Vietnamese Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, also have the opportunity to directly explore Vietnamese culture through intimate and emotionally rich experiences. From familiar Vietnamese dishes to the Quan Ho folk songs of Bac Ninh, each activity offers a unique approach for international students to better understand the country, its people, and its identity.

On August 26, 2026, an international scientific conference on the theme “Five Decades of Thailand-Vietnam Diplomatic Relations: History, Society, Culture, and Cooperation” was held at Thammasat University (Tha Prachan Campus), Thailand. This significant event was organized to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand. Simultaneously, the conference organizers also solemnly launched a book of the same name, marking an important milestone in academic cooperation between the two countries.

The class was organized by the Women's Committee in coordination with the Life and Life Committee and the LVS Handicraft Club (Faculty of Linguistics and Vietnamese Studies), University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (Vietnam Education Union). The 2026 summer experiential activity "Summer Touching Colors," for the children of staff and workers, was enthusiastically implemented from July 15th to 28th, 2026, focusing on four skill groups: MC - Presentation; Crochet; Wire Craft; and Clay Art.

On July 21, 2026, a group of K68 students majoring in Vietnamese Studies, Faculty of Linguistics and Vietnamese Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, officially departed for Guilin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) to participate in the "Following the Li River" practical training program, which will take place from July 21 to July 25, 2026.

On June 9, 2026, the Faculty of Linguistics and Vietnamese Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU Hanoi), organized an academic seminar on the topic "Clinical Phonetics: Applications to Speech Pathology in Children".

On June 3, 2026, students from the Faculty of Linguistics and Vietnamese Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, presented their research at the 22nd International Conference on Socio-economic and Environmental Issues in Development, held at the National Economics University.

The traditional Bunpimay New Year of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in 2026 will take place from April 14th to 16th. Despite celebrating the New Year far from their homeland, Lao students studying in Vietnam will still be able to immerse themselves in the vibrant and heartwarming celebrations, reflecting the rich cultural traditions and warm friendship.

Cuisine is not just a story of taste, but also an identity, a silent "ambassador" that brings national culture to the hearts of international friends. On the occasion of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day in 2026, the Faculty of Linguistics and Vietnamese Studies transformed its academic space into a "multicultural meeting point," where traditional dishes became a bridge connecting Vietnamese and international students.

The 23rd course on "Methods of Teaching Vietnamese to Foreigners," professionally conducted by the Faculty of Linguistics and Vietnamese Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, commenced on April 4, 2026.
