Finals of the Language and AI Competition

Location: Auditorium on the 8th floor, Building E, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi
Competition objectives:
The competition aims to stimulate interdisciplinary thinking, helping students recognize the role of language in the technological age. From natural language processing and language education to the preservation and development of the Vietnamese language in the digital environment, the competition opens up a new perspective on linguistics as a field capable of directly contributing to innovation.
Through submitted products and media products themed "Language and AI," the competition aims to select and develop products with long-term application value, such as videos for teaching, digital learning materials, tools to support Vietnamese language learning, and mini-corporations for research.
Organizational methods
Student teams develop products that combine linguistic knowledge and AI technology to solve specific problems in life, education, or communication. The final round is held as a large-scale academic event, comprising two main activities:
- Product exhibitions in the form of posters/infographics and hands-on experiences help visitors access ideas visually.
- The stage presentation and live Q&A session before the judging panel, where teams present their solutions, answer technical questions, and defend the feasibility of their products.
This format creates an atmosphere that is both academic, creative, and highly interactive.
Effectiveness and expansion orientation
The competition not only creates a practical research and application environment for students but also contributes to building and promoting the image of the faculty as a pioneering training unit in the interdisciplinary fields of linguistics and artificial intelligence.
From here, many new avenues are opened: developing tools to support language teaching and learning, applying AI in discourse analysis, building smart learning materials, and technological solutions serving the community. The competition thus becomes a bridge between training, research, and practical application in the fields of Language and AI.
