University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi

(GD&TĐ) On the morning of March 20th, a seminar on Linguistics and Vietnamese Studies in the context of digital transformation was held at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

In 2025, the Research Talk series, jointly organized by the Faculty of Linguistics, Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Studies and the Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, attracted a large number of lecturers, students from USSH, and international scientists. With 15 regularly held seminars covering diverse topics and approaches, Research Talk has gradually shaped an open academic space where theoretical and practical issues in social sciences and humanities research are discussed in depth, interdisciplinaryly, and in relation to international scientific issues.

On February 2nd, 2026, the Faculty of Linguistics, Vietnamese Language & Vietnamese Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU Hanoi) held the final round of the "Language and AI" competition, concluding a vibrant, creative, and student-centered academic journey. More than just an intellectual playground, the competition also opened up fresh perspectives on the role of linguistics in the context of rapidly developing technology and artificial intelligence.

The "Language and AI" competition is an academic and creative platform for students, aiming to promote the integration of linguistics with artificial intelligence in products with practical applications.

From January 7-10, 2026, the Faculty of Linguistics, Vietnamese Language & Vietnamese Studies and the Faculty of Oriental Studies had a field trip to Khon Kaen University, Thailand.

Over more than 20 years of implementing Resolution 36-NQ/TW (2004) and the directives of the Politburo and the Secretariat, the work concerning Vietnamese people abroad has achieved many successes, including preserving and honoring Vietnamese cultural values, especially the Vietnamese language, within our overseas Vietnamese community.

From December 9-13, 2025, a delegation of students from the Faculty of Linguistics, Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Studies - University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, along with their faculty members, participated in an international student exchange program at Guangxi Nationalities Normal University (China). This was a meaningful activity that contributed to promoting educational cooperation, academic exchange, and enhancing mutual understanding between students and faculty of the two universities.

GD&TĐ - On December 21st, the "International Cultural Festival 2025 – Global Festival" took place at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi.

Following the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Center for Digital Content Design Research and the Center for Vietnamese Studies, National Kaohsiung University (Taiwan), the leadership of the Faculty of Linguistics, Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, conducted a field trip and tested methods applied in disseminating the Vietnamese language and culture in Taiwan (China).

On September 27, 2025, the Faculty of Linguistics, Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Studies organized an academic seminar on the topic "The Issue of Chinese Language in Vietnamese Language Research". This was one of the practical activities aimed at commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Faculty of Literature (1945 – 2025), the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (1995 – 2025), and the 100th anniversary of the birth of scholar Phan Ngoc – the first Head of the Linguistics Group of Hanoi University.

On September 27, 2025, the third round of the 2025 Vietnamese Language Proficiency Assessment Exam based on the Vietnamese Language Proficiency Framework for Foreigners, organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (USSH), was held safely and seriously.

The training course on teaching Vietnamese to overseas Vietnamese teachers is a program organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU Hanoi) as the leading professional institution.

This is an important part of the 2025 Vietnamese Language Teaching Training Course for Vietnamese Teachers Abroad, organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the Faculty of Linguistics, Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, responsible for the professional aspects.

The Department of Linguistics, Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the Center for Digital Content Design Research, National Kaohsiung University, signed a cooperation agreement on August 22, 2025, to apply virtual reality technology in teaching and disseminating Vietnamese language and culture abroad.

This morning, August 14, 2025, the opening ceremony of the "Training Course on Teaching Vietnamese to Overseas Vietnamese Teachers" in 2025 took place at the headquarters of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (Ministry of Foreign Affairs). The program is jointly organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese - Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and the Vietnam Education Publishing House.
