In the development goals of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities until 2020, one of the main directions for training and scientific research is to build a research university with a suitable model, scale, and activities, emphasizing the importance of the participation of young staff, postgraduate students, and doctoral candidates in research in various forms. Based on these directions, in the 2013-2014 academic year, the University plans to organize the "Scientific Conference of Young Staff, Postgraduate Students, and Doctoral Candidates" as follows:
1. Purpose:Scientific research by young faculty members, postgraduate students, and doctoral candidates is an important and necessary activity in the training of staff and postgraduate education, contributing to improving the quality of training and scientific research for this group; helping faculty members, postgraduate students, and doctoral candidates enhance their acquired knowledge and research specific issues posed by their specialization; creating a professional foundation and research skills for their studies and research (theses, dissertations); improving the quality of training and self-training, creating a high-quality human resource pool, identifying and nurturing a system of high-quality, leading scientists for the country; creating an academic atmosphere among young faculty members, postgraduate students, and doctoral candidates, aiming to contribute to building a research university.
2. Content:There are no content restrictions. Papers submitted to the Conference must be original articles and research papers—not previously published in any conferences, journals, or monographs—related to theses, dissertations, and professional research by young staff members, graduate students, and doctoral candidates.
3. Format:Research papers submitted for presentation will be in the form of a 15-minute speech or a poster presentation. (Conference papers will be reviewed and published in the scientific proceedings, with a publication code obtained and peer review by the expert panel.)
4. TimeMarch 1, 2014 (the official date will be announced before February 10, 2014)
5. Location: University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi
6. Schedule:
ButBefore December 25, 2013: Young faculty members, postgraduate students, and doctoral candidates should submit abstracts of their papers. Abstracts in both Vietnamese and English should include:Title, author's name, article abstract (approximately 500 words), keyword list, bibliography (no more than 3 references).
- Before January 15, 2014: The Conference's expert panel will announce the selected papers (presented as speeches or posters);
- Before February 20, 2014: Submit the full text of the article via email.research@ussh.edu.vnThe full text of the article (3,000 to 6,000 words) should be presented using Unicode encoding, Times New Roman font, size 12, and 1.5 line spacing.
