Invitation to write articles for the workshop on basic and urgent issues of ethnic minorities in East Asia and Southeast Asia

In the context of globalization and international integration, the issue of ethnic minorities in East Asia and Southeast Asia is having new, complicated and unpredictable developments. Therefore, the study points out the basic and urgent issues of ethnic minorities in East Asia and Southeast Asia and its impact on Vietnam, which is an important content that needs to be paid attention to by scientists. The workshop "Basic and urgent issues of ethnic minorities in East Asia and Southeast Asia today and their impacts on Vietnam" organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities aims to help management agencies have scientific and practical arguments for planning, innovating and improving the effectiveness of policy implementation for ethnic minorities in the next period.

1.Content:The workshop focused on discussing the following key issues:

(1) Identify and evaluate the basic issues of ethnic minorities in East Asia and Southeast Asia today:Ethnic conflicts; Secession issues; Issues of ensuring the right to participate in politics and human rights of ethnic minorities; Land issues of ethnic minority communities; Cultural issues and cultural changes of ethnic minorities; Religious issues, etc.

(2) Identify and evaluate both basic and urgent issues regarding ethnic minorities in East Asia and Southeast Asia today:Issues of ethnic discrimination; Issues of security - defense, social evils, crimes; Issues of social inequality in the development process of ethnic minority communities; Issues of ethnic assimilation; Issues of immigration/migration; Issues of transnational ethnic relations; Issues of non-traditional security in ethnic minority areas; Issues of economic development, ensuring social security in ethnic minority areas (employment, poverty, education, health, environment), etc.

(3)Impact of the above issues on Vietnam: Impact content, impact method, impact subject - impact object, etc.

2. Language: Vietnamese.

3. Time: Expected by the end of September 2017.

4. Location: University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU.

5. Some information to note:

-From 01/07/2017 to 20/07/2017: Submit title and summary of report (200 words)

- From August 20 to September 5, 2017: Submit full report to the Organizing Committee (about 10-20 A4 pages, Times New Roman font, Unicode encoding, font size 13).
