Newton Fund: Call for Applications for Social Sciences and Humanities Research Exchange Program

Within the framework of the Newton Fund Vietnam, the British Embassy has sent out the 4th call for applications for the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Exchange Program (2017) between Vietnamese and UK scientists, implemented by the British Academy.
  • Target:

- Improve research capacity for Vietnamese scientists, contributing to socio-economic development for Vietnam.

- Establish long-term research cooperation between Vietnam and the UK.

  • Object:Vietnamese and British scientistshas a PhD.
  • Sponsorship:The British Academy will provide up to £10,000 for one year of research collaboration.
  • PhApplication form: The application will be submitted online by Vietnamese scientists to the British Academy via the system.eGap.
  • Application deadline: 15/3/2017, 17:00 (UK time).

* Newton Fund

The Newton Fund works with 16 countries to build their research and innovation capacity and support their economic and social development for sustainable development. The fund has a total budget of £735 million from the UK Government and matching contributions from partner countries until 2021.

On the UK side, the Newton Fund is managed by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and implemented directly by 15 specialist organisations (Research Councils, Academies, British Council, Innovate UK and the Met Office). The “Research Exchange between Scientists” programme implemented by the British Academy is one of more than 10 programmes under the Newton Fund Vietnam.
