II. Admission requirements for master's degree programs
Applicants for the master's program must meet all of the following conditions:
1. General conditions:
- A clean personal record, not currently under disciplinary action at the level of a warning or higher, and not serving a criminal sentence, as confirmed by the human resources department of the current workplace or the local government where the individual resides. Must be in good health to participate in the training.
2. Regarding qualifications
- Have graduated or are eligible for university graduation(or equivalent or higher level)Relevant field of study; for research-oriented programs, a GPA of "Good" or higher is required.orHaving published scientific works (books, textbooks, articles published in specialized scientific journals or reports published in the proceedings of specialized scientific conferences and seminars) related to the field of study and research.
- Applicants holding a university degree or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution must follow the current regulations on degree recognition as stipulated by the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training.
(For a list of suitable fields of study, work experience requirements, and regulations on postgraduate supplementary education, please see Appendix 1).
3. Regarding foreign language requirements:
Applicants must meet the foreign language proficiency requirements.(The list of recognized foreign languages for each training program is specified in detail in Appendix 1) The program's requirements are demonstrated by one of the following specific diplomas or certificates:
- A university degree or higher in a foreign language, a foreign language pedagogy degree, or a university degree or higher where the foundational and specialized courses are taught in a foreign language;
- A university degree or higher from a training unit within the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, issued no more than two years prior to the application date.
- One of the foreign language certificates/qualifications equivalent to Level 3 or higher according to the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam, valid for 2 years from the date of the exam/certification to the date of application.(See Appendix 2 and Appendix 3).
- A certificate confirming a score of 3 or higher on the Vietnam National University Hanoi's (VNU test) foreign language proficiency assessment test organized by the University of Foreign Languages.(See item 4, Appendix 3).
- The foreign language proficiency requirement for master's degree programs must be at least Level 4 or equivalent, according to the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam.
4. Regarding seniority requirements:
- Applicants must meet the work experience requirement.(if any)according to the target group specified in the curriculum framework for master's degree programs.(See details in Appendix 1).
5. Applicants who are foreign citizens.If applying for a master's program taught in Vietnamese, applicants must have a Vietnamese language proficiency level of at least Level 4 according to the Vietnamese Language Proficiency Framework for Foreigners, or have graduated from university.(or equivalent level)or higher, where the training program is taught in Vietnamese; meeting the requirements for a second foreign language as stipulated by the training institution.(if any)except in the case of native speakers of the language used in the training program.
The admission of foreign students or Vietnamese citizens residing abroad to study at Vietnam National University, Hanoi is carried out according to the Regulations on attracting and managing international students at Vietnam National University, Hanoi, issued under Decision No. 4848/QD-ĐHQGHN dated December 18, 2017.
III. Admission Methods
1. Method 1 (PT1): Selection based on application review:
a) Admission requirements:
Applicants for master's programs at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will be considered for admission based on application review if they meet the following conditions:
- Regarding university degree qualifications:meet one of the following requirements:
+ Graduated from a regular university program in the following fieldcorrect (The correct field of study is the one whose name matches the field of study the candidate is applying for in the master's program.)Achieved a GPA of "Good" or higher at Vietnam National University, Hanoi within the past 12 months.(calculated from the date of graduation to the time of application submission)belonging to talent-based, advanced, internationally standardized, high-quality training programs.(funded by the state)or training programs accredited by accreditation organizations recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training.(These training programs must still be valid for accreditation at the time the candidate is studying at the university level);
+ Graduated from a regular university program in the following fieldcorrectAchieve a GPA of Excellent or higher within a 12-month period.(calculated from the date of graduation to the time of application submission)Standard, high-quality training programs according to Circular 23/2014/TT-BGDĐT of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, or training programs outside Vietnam National University, Hanoi, that have been accredited by accreditation organizations recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training (these training programs must still be valid at the time the student is studying at the undergraduate level).Details of the eligible majors for registration and admission under Method 1 can be found in Section 3, Appendix 4.
Bonus points for scientific research achievements (see regulations in point b of this section) may be added to the candidate's cumulative GPA for direct admission consideration.
- Regarding foreign language proficiency:Applicants must possess foreign language proficiency that meets the requirements of the training program, as evidenced by one of the diplomas or certificates specified in Section 2, Part II of this Announcement at the time of application submission.(See Appendix 2, Appendix 3)
b) Regulations regarding the points awarded for scientific research achievements:
- For student scientific research projects:
+ Awarded at the Vietnam National University, Hanoi or Ministry of Education and Training level: first prize: 0.2 points, second prize: 0.15 points, third prize: 0.1 points, honorable mention: 0.07 points.
+ Awarded at the school or faculty level: first prize 0.1 point, second prize 0.07 points, third prize 0.05 points.
- For scientific articles published in ISI journals: 0.3 points; articles published in Scopus/other international journals: 0.2 points; articles published in the proceedings of international/national scientific conferences/seminars: 0.15 points;
- Students with many achievements can accumulate bonus points, but not more than 0.5 points.
c) Timeframe for the selection process: see the selection schedule in section A.
Candidates who do not meet the eligibility requirements for admission method 1 will be transferred to admission method 2 in the corresponding admission rounds of the 2026 admission period.
d) Admission quotas for Method 1:not exceeding the quota allocated to each sector.
e) Selection principle for Method 1: Selection is based on the cumulative GPA (including bonus points for scientific research achievements) in descending order.
2. Admission Method 2: Application review combined with professional interview (applicable to all master's degree programs and candidates applying under methods not listed in section 1)
The selection process includes two stages: evaluating applicants' documents and interviewing applicants.
a)Evaluating candidate profiles
Assess the academic ability of candidates through their undergraduate studies and work experience as follows:

b) Interviewing candidates:
Through the interview process, the assessment evaluates the candidate's knowledge, professional awareness, and learning abilities regarding the field/training program; their ability to communicate, understand, and express issues as required; their understanding of the training institution; their basic and relatively up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the training specialization; their need to improve their skills in the field of specialization and apply them in practice; their readiness to participate in the training process; and their basic skills such as communication, presentation, and language proficiency.
Total rating score: 80 points.

IV. Application procedure:
Candidates applying for the 2026 master's program at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities must register online and submit their application documents following these steps:
1. Register online on the VNU admissions portal:

Note:Candidates who have registered accounts in previous admission periods and have not yet enrolled at any unit within VNU can use their existing accounts to register for admission in 2026. Candidates must commit to and be responsible for the accuracy of the information they declare.
- File onlyapprovedOnce the applicant has completed updating their profile on the Hanoi National University's postgraduate admissions portal: University diploma and transcript; Proof of foreign language proficiency; Confirmation for diplomas issued by foreign educational institutions; Proof of scientific research (if any); Completed the application fee and sent the supporting documents via Zalo:094.990.3468.
2. Submit your application directly to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities with the following details:
2.1 The list of documents to be submitted to the School includes:

- Copy of Citizen Identity Card(This is a mandatory requirement for declaring candidate and student management data according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training)

- A certified copy of the diploma certificate issued by the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training.(for candidates with diplomas awarded by foreign educational institutions).

- Certified copy of proof of foreign language proficiency(Only diplomas/certificates specified in Appendix 2 and Appendix 3 of this Notice will be accepted)
- Copies of scientific research papers and certificates of scientific research achievements.(if any)For scientific research papers, the copy must fully display the cover page, table of contents, and the content of the candidate's published work.

Note:
- The list of required documents includes the admission documents for successful applicants.
- Candidates who do not register online or who register online but fail to submit the required documents will be ineligible to apply.

But The University's Postgraduate Admissions Board will consider revoking the admission of candidates if the information provided in the application is inconsistent with the submitted documents. Does not meet the eligibility criteria.
D. ADMISSION CRITERIA AND CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION
I.Admission score:
Candidates applying for master's degree programs must meet the required foreign language entrance standards and must achieve a minimum score.50%The total score based on the scoring scale for each section/criterion in the application review and interview is required to be eligible for admission.
II. Cut-off scores:
The admission cutoff score is determined based on the allocated training quota and by calculating the total admission score and the total professional profile score of each candidate, from highest to lowest, for each major and specialization until the quota is filled.
E. TRAINING TIME AND COST
- Standard duration of master's degree training: 2 years
Successful applicants will be officially recognized as graduate students after completing the enrollment procedures as required.
