Viewpoints and solutions for building and promoting intellectual resources

The workshop "Viewpoints and solutions for building and promoting intellectual resources to serve the cause of national revival in the 21st century" was held this morning, April 2, 2010 at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.This is the fourth workshop within the framework of the topic "Building and promoting Vietnamese intellectual resources to serve the cause of national revival in the 21st century", code KX. 03.22/06-10 chaired by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh. Many leading experts in scientific fields such as philosophy, history, political science, sociology, psychology, culture... participated in the workshop. There were 20 reports presented. The reports focused on the following main issues: - Clarifying some theoretical issues on intellectual resources and the role of intellectual resources in the cause of national revival; - Researching the policy of training and using intellectuals in Vietnam in history, thereby drawing useful lessons for the cause of building and promoting Vietnamese intellectual resources today; - Researching the experiences of some countries in building and promoting intellectual resources, proposing appropriate experiences that can be applied to Vietnam; - Assess the achievements and limitations in the Party and State's policies and guidelines in building and promoting Vietnam's intellectual resources in recent times, on that basis, propose some basic viewpoints and solutions to create breakthroughs in this work. From the approaches of different scientific fields, experts exchanged and discussed to reach consensus on the core issues in the approach as well as the contents of the intellectual resources issue and the role of this resource in the cause of national construction.
