More than 100 delegates attended the international workshop "Creating socio-economic activities to serve local sustainable development" at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, on the morning of April 7, 2010.
More than 100 delegates attended the international workshop "Creating socio-economic activities to serve local sustainable development" at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, on the morning of April 7, 2010.The workshop was jointly organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Toulouse de Mirail University (France). Taking the case of Son La (Northwest Vietnam) and the Midi-Pyrenees (France) for comparison, the reports at the workshop focused on solving theoretical and practical issues to create socio-economic activities serving sustainable development in Son La in particular and the Northwest of Vietnam in general. After the opening session, the workshop consisted of 2 sub-committees. Sub-committee 1:"Planning and policies for socio-economic development of Son La and the Northwest region". This subcommittee focuses on assessing the potentials, positions, as well as the challenges in economic, cultural, social development, territorial planning, mobility and public transport... for Son La in particular and the Northwest region in general. From there, find appropriate solutions for the development of this economic region. Subcommittee 2:“Sustainable Tourism, Crafts, Agriculture and Dairying”. This subcommittee focuses on theoretical and practical solutions to some strengths in economic development of Son La and the Northwest region. Within the framework of the Workshop, delegates will have a field trip to Moc Chau - Son La for 4 days, from April 8 to April 12.
