Attending the launching ceremony of the Higher Education and Vocational Quality Channel in person and online were: Mr. Choltis Dhirathiti - Executive Director of the ASEAN University Network (AUN); Mr. Pham Vu Quoc Binh - Deputy Director General of the General Department of Vocational Education, Mr. Nguyen Quang Viet - Director of the Department of Vocational Education Quality Assessment, Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs; Mr. Le My Phong - Deputy Director of the Department of Quality Management - Ministry of Education and Training.
On the side of VNU, there were Mr. Pham Bao Son - Vice President; Mr. Nguyen Huu Duc - former Vice President; Mr. Mai Trong Nhuan - Chairman of the Quality Assurance Council; Mr. Nghiem Xuan Huy - Director of the Institute for Education Quality Assurance; representatives of the Office and functional departments.
In recent years, the Party and the Government have had strong guidelines and specific policies on comprehensive innovation in education, especially higher education and vocational education. In particular, the orientation and policies on university autonomy are gradually coming into life. To exercise autonomy, universities and colleges need to demonstrate accountability and commitment to training quality to society. System administration, quality assurance and quality accreditation are particularly important and necessary tools to support the implementation of accountability of educational institutions.
Mr. Nghiem Xuan Huy, Director of the Institute for Education Quality Assurance, the permanent unit of the Sharing Channel, said that with more than 25 years of experience as a leader in the country in implementing university governance, quality assurance and educational quality assessment, VNU has a team of permanent staff as well as a network of partners with deep understanding of the theory and practice of governance, quality assurance and educational quality assessment to deploy and operate the Channel. In addition, VNU also has a team of IT engineers with appropriate IT knowledge and skills to develop and manage the university governance system, quality assurance and educational quality assessment.

Appreciating the initiative of VNU in establishing the Higher Education and Vocational Quality Channel, Mr. Choltis Dhirathiti - Executive Director of AUN said that this platform will contribute to supporting and promoting the development of the quality of Vietnam's higher education and vocational system. He expressed his impression of the Channel's operational goal of forming a community of higher education and vocational training that is connected, shares and supports each other and said that this is also the focus of AUN in the roadmap to contribute to building ASEAN into a center of high-quality education.
Speaking at the ceremony, VNU President Le Quan said that with its role and mission of carrying out many important tasks in the innovation of higher education and scientific research, VNU always strives to have high rankings in domestic and international rankings. However, VNU always considers the quality of education as the root and is willing to share, wishing to spread and develop a culture of quality.

According to Director Le Quan, digital transformation activities are being strongly implemented at VNU. Recently, VNU has launched the Online Channel to support primary education, a system to support online and direct teaching and learning for teachers, parents and primary school students in remote, disadvantaged areas in particular and localities across the country in general. Currently, more than 100,000 people from nearly 40 localities have registered to participate in online training, fostering and support courses through this channel. VNU will continue to promote the general education channel through training activities, improving the capacity of teachers and general education managers in the coming time.
Quality culture is always promoted and plays the number 1 role throughout all activities of VNU. Therefore, the launch of the Higher Education and Vocational Quality Channel will contribute to developing the education quality of VNU in particular, and the national higher education and vocational education system in general.

Director Le Quan shared that the Higher Education and Vocational Quality Channel aims to create and develop a platform to promote the quality culture of universities and colleges in Vietnam, operating on the basis of 4 main content axes including: Quality assurance, Quality accreditation, Ranking and benchmarking of education quality and School governance.
The Channel aims to carry out the following main activities: policy research and advice; education reporting and evaluation; conferences/seminars/forums; capacity building and enhancement; honoring, recognizing and disseminating excellent practices in university governance. The ultimate goal of the Channel is to create a foundation for developing a culture of quality in Vietnamese universities and colleges.
He also said that in the near future, VNU will introduce a Human Resource Development Channel, focusing on connecting businesses with higher education and vocational training institutions. This platform aims to connect human resource training and development, associated with lifelong learning education.
Director Le Quan also affirmed that VNU develops a technology platform, using technology to ensure proper implementation of digital transformation principles, aiming to connect, form networks, share databases, promote a culture of cooperation and develop together.

Professional Advisory Council of the Higher Education and Career Quality Channel
At the event, Mr. Pham Vu Quoc Binh - Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and Mr. Le My Phong - Ministry of Education and Training gave congratulatory speeches on the establishment and launch of the VNU University and Vocational Education Quality Channel and expressed hope that this platform will help gather scientists and higher education institutions to research, support and develop quality assurance activities and quality culture.
To kick off the Channel's activities, the Institute for Education Quality Assurance - VNU, the permanent unit of the Channel, organized the Scientific Workshop "Quality assurance and accreditation of higher education in the context of university autonomy: Theory and practice". This is a forum for education managers, higher education experts, researchers, lecturers, and staff working in the field of quality assurance, quality accreditation and university ranking to clarify theoretical and practical issues in quality assurance; update and disseminate new trends in quality assurance - accreditation and university ranking; identify the current situation and evaluate the effectiveness of policy implementation on university autonomy, university governance in general, quality assurance - accreditation and university ranking in particular in Vietnam; and share experiences and good practices in quality assurance, accreditation and university ranking.

The Channel is responsible for implementing programs, events, and activities to promote the development of quality culture in higher education and vocational education institutions nationwide. The specific operational objectives of the Channel are as follows: - Forming a national university and vocational education community, connecting, sharing, supporting improvement and enhancement of the quality of school management activities, quality assurance, quality assessment, ranking and benchmarking of education quality; - Implement research to transfer solutions on management, quality assurance, quality assessment, ranking and comparison of education quality; - Support educational institutions in implementing quality assessment goals according to regulations of law and relevant ministries; - Support educational institutions to build and perfect internal quality assurance systems; - Promote and support the application of various solutions for management activities at universities and colleges such as: university comparison and ranking, educational assessment, research and technology transfer, etc. |
