QS AUR 2022 ranks 675 higher education institutions in Asia (38 higher education institutions participated in the ranking for the first time in 2022). The ranking results are collected from the responses of more than 130,000 scholars and 75,000 employers worldwide, along with analysis of the results collected from approximately 96 million citations (in the period 2015-2020) from 14.7 million scientific publications (in the period 2015-2019) after removing self-citations.
VNU is in the group of 21.4% of leading higher education institutions in Asia.
According to the QS AUR 2022 rankings, VNU continues to demonstrate its international position and academic reputation when it is in the top 100 for Academic Reputation for the second consecutive year (ranked 98th in QS AUR 2022 - up 1 place compared to the previous ranking). In addition, the increased position in the 3 criteria of International Cooperation Network, Number of Exchange Students and Lecturers is a recognition of VNU's international cooperation promotion activities with foreign higher education institutions through online forms in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic that has limited travel between countries around the world.

QS AUR 2021 Ranking Criteria
In the QS AUR 2022 rankings, in addition to VNU, Vietnam also has 10 other higher education institutions: Ton Duc Thang University at position 142, Ho Chi Minh City National University (VNU-HCM) at position 179, Duy Tan University at position 210, Hanoi University of Science and Technology in group 281-290, Hue University in group 401-450, Can Tho University and Da Nang University in group 501-550; Hanoi National University of Education and Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics in group 551-600; Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry in group 601-650.
Top 5 Vietnamese universities in QS Asia Rankings 2022
In this year's QS Asia rankings, Singapore continues to maintain its leading position with two universities: NUS (National University of Singapore - 1st in Asia; 11th in the world) and NTU (Nanyang Technological University Singapore - 3rd in Asia; 12th in the world). In addition, in Southeast Asia, Malaysia has the most universities in the top 50 with 5, of which Malaya University has the best ranking, 8th in Asia. After Malaysia is Thailand with 23 ranked universities (of which 2 are ranked in the top 50), the Philippines with 15 ranked universities and Indonesia with 34 ranked universities.
