On May 8, 2009, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Dr. Hyung-chong Lee - President of Sangmyung University (South Korea), and Dr. Yong-hwan Lee - CEO of Koreanlang Company (South Korea) signed a tripartite cooperation agreement on the establishment and operation of a Korean Language and Korean Studies Center located at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
This center was established to provide courses on Korean language, culture, and other related subjects for Vietnamese people. According to the agreement, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will provide administrative and physical facilities, and Vietnamese personnel to manage the center and its teaching programs; Sangmyung University will provide Korean language programs, textbooks, and Korean language instructors; and Korealang Company will be the investor and financial support for the center's program operations.
