On May 8, 2009, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Dr. Hyung-chong Lee - President of Sangmyung University (Korea), Dr. Yong-hwan Lee - CEO of Koreanlang Company (Korea) signed a three-party cooperation agreement on the establishment and operation of the Korean Language and Korean Studies Center located at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
This center was established to provide courses on Korean language, culture and other related courses for Vietnamese people. According to the agreement, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will provide administrative conditions and facilities, provide Vietnamese personnel to participate in managing the center and running the teaching programs; Sangmyung University will provide Korean language programs, textbooks and Korean language teachers for the center; Korealang Company is the investor and financial support unit for operating the center's programs.
