Sponsored by the Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies (KFAS), the Asia Research Center (ARC) of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, is pleased to announce the International Scholar Exchange Fellowship Program (ISEF) for the years 2012-2013.
Object:Applicants must be currently employed at Vietnam National University, Hanoi. (Those who have previously conducted research in Korea, those who have received ISEF scholarships, and those whose primary purpose is to teach in Korea are not eligible for this scholarship.)
Selection criteria:
- Under 50 years old, capable of conducting research in English or Korean.
- Having a doctoral degree or higher.

Research field:
- Social Sciences and Humanities (Majors: Economics, Business Administration, Political Science, Public Administration, Law, Sociology, Education, Psychology, Anthropology, Journalism, Geography, Philosophy, History).
- Energy-related fields: Petrochemical technology and related areas.
- Information Science and Technology: Electrical Engineering (Electronics), Telecommunications, Computer Science, and related fields.
- Life sciences.
(Individuals in fields of study not listed above are not eligible for this scholarship.)
Research duration:
- 1 year + From September 1, 2012 to August 31, 2013
- 6 months + From September 1, 2012 to February 28, 2013; or + From March 1, 2013 to August 31, 2013
Scholarship details:
- Research support: 2,200,000 won/month (equivalent to 26,400,000 won/year for a one-year study or 13,200,000 won/year for a six-month study)
- A thesis support payment of 1,000,000 won will be provided after submitting the research report at the end of the term (August 2012 for a one-year study; February 2012 or August 2012 for a six-month study).
- Initial support: 1,000,000 won. (The above support is provided directly to the scholar.)
- Round-trip airfare (economy class). (Tickets purchased for the scholar by the Center for Asian Studies Support)
- Benefits include: - Health insurance (upon request). - Accident insurance for foreigners.
- They are provided with optimal facilities for research.
