The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is recruiting students for a short-term certificate course in Journalism Writing Skills, commencing on March 15, 2013. 1. SubjectStudents who need to improve their journalistic writing skills.2. ObjectivesUpon completion of the course, students will have acquired the basic knowledge and skills of journalism, specifically: - The landscape of Vietnamese journalism and career opportunities in the field of print media; - Law and ethics of journalism; - Skills in identifying issues, gathering information, and evaluating journalistic information; - Interviewing skills as a professional operation of journalists, and interviewing as an independent genre of journalism; - Basic journalistic genres such as news, interviews, biographical sketches, feature articles, and investigative reports; - Article organization.3. Study time18 sessions. 3 sessions per week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 6 PM to 8 PM.4. Utilize students' practical work.Suitable and high-quality practical projects will be published on the website of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and authors will receive royalties according to the university's current regulations.5. Opening Ceremony: 15/03/2012 6. Tuition feesCourse fee: 2,200,000 VND/student/course. Discounts apply to the following groups: - Students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities: 1,800,000 VND/student/course. - Alumni of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities: 2,000,000 VND/course. A minimum of 70% of the tuition fee must be paid upon registration. Tuition fees are non-refundable after the course begins.7. Register for the courseApplications must be submitted by March 14, 2013, at Room 411, Building C, Center for Journalism and Communication, 336 Nguyen Trai Street, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi. The application dossier includes: - Application form (obtain and fill out at the center) - Copy of student ID/university diploma/ - Copy of birth certificate or national identity card - 2 photos 3 x 4 cm (taken within the last 3 months)8.
