Social Work: A Profession of Compassionate Hearts

Globally, the social work profession emerged approximately 100 years ago, originating from the charitable activities and assistance provided by Catholic clergy in monasteries. In Vietnam, since 2010, when the Government issued the Plan for the Development of the Social Work Profession for the period 2010-2020 (Decision 32/2010/QD-TTg), officially recognizing social work as a science and a professional occupation, this profession has begun to develop strongly. In the future, social work will be a profession with high demand for human resources due to the reality that people in modern society increasingly face significant pressures and risks, requiring the attention and support of the community and society.
