Tourism is a "smokeless industry" with a rapid growth rate and a large contribution to the country's GDP in recent years. According to statistics from the General Department of Tourism (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), each year the Vietnamese tourism industry needs nearly 40,000 more workers, but only 14,000 students graduate, of which only more than 12% have college or university degrees or higher. The high demand for human resources while the number of students trained each year is low has made Tourism and Travel Services Management one of the top hot jobs with high salaries.
