- The research objective of this thesis is to clarify how Cambodia's foreign policy towards the United States was expressed from 2009 to 2024, and thereby draw policy implications for Vietnam.

- The subject of this dissertation is the content and practical implementation of Cambodia's policy towards the United States in the fields of political-diplomatic relations, economics, defense-security, and other areas during the period 2009-2024.

- The thesis was conducted using qualitative research methods combined with other research methods such as: historical research method, discourse analysis method, analysis and synthesis method, policy analysis method, and forecasting method.

Main results and new contributions of the thesis

- The first,This dissertation systematizes and deepens the theoretical framework on the foreign policy of small countries in relation to large countries; thereby building a practical analytical framework on the strategic interaction between Cambodia and the United States in the new geopolitical context.
