- Research purpose: The thesis clarifies the current status of Vietnam's international cooperation with WHO, ASEAN, some major countries and vaccine diplomacy activities in the prevention of the Covid-19 pandemic (2019-2023). From there, the thesis provides a basis for making some policy recommendations for Vietnam in the prevention of the Covid-19 pandemic in particular and dangerous infectious pandemics that may appear in the future.
- Research object: Vietnam's international cooperation in preventing and combating the Covid-19 pandemic (2019-2023).
- Research methods:
The thesis applies a synthesis of research methods, mainly the method of synthesis analysis; the method of comparison; the method of foreign policy analysis; the method of international cooperation analysis; the method of history and logic; the method of case study.
- Main results and new contributions of the thesis:
Based on selectively absorbing and developing the achievements of related research works both at home and abroad, with an international relations approach, the thesis is a new, in-depth and systematic research work on Vietnam's international cooperation in preventing and combating the Covid-19 pandemic (2019-2023), including the following contributions:
- The thesis presents a number of concepts and theories related to "Vietnam's international cooperation in preventing and combating the Covid-19 pandemic". Concepts include: pandemic, epidemic, Covid-19 pandemic, non-traditional security, international cooperation. Regarding international relations theory: Liberalism, realism and constructivism are the main theories that the doctoral student uses to serve the thesis research.
- The thesis also makes certain contributions to theoretical and practical research on the inevitability of cooperation between subjects in international relations in responding to the Covid-19 pandemic.
