- Restore the group's appearance in the literary history process
The Han Thuyen Cultural Ideology Group was born and developed rapidly and strongly in the years 1940 - 1945 as a mark of the Neo-Marxist trend in Vietnam in the early 20th century. Although the boundary between members and collaborators is difficult to define, with the documents found, along with existing research, we have established the group's relationships within possible limits.
-Creative application of Marxism combined with different ideological trends
The authors of Han Thuyen are those who absorbed Marxism through French communism and related documents. They applied that theory in research methods, literary and artistic criticism, combined with the achievements of humanities - such as physiology, psychology, philosophy, anthropology, sociology, from which many elaborate studies were born.
Regarding culture, Truong Tuu presented different views on civilization to shed light on the process of human evolution. Meanwhile, Luong Duc Thiep emphasized the role of humans in influencing society, thereby explaining the origin of Vietnamese society and affirming Vietnamese identity on the regional cultural map.
In terms of theory and literary criticism, the authors apply the theory of dialectical materialism to point out the close relationship between reality, biography and the creative process of the writer in the work.
-Unity and diversity in Han Thuyen's creative practice
Han Thuyen's prose works are quite diverse in genre, from short stories to novels, from realism to detective literature, memoirs, and reports. The topics are equally rich.
Thus, the thesis has focused on analyzing quite complete aspects of Han Thuyen from culture, ideology to creative practice. With a wide range of fields, a large number of works and logical scientific research methods, the appearance of Han Thuyen is being re-evaluated more fully. Through our thesis, we hope to affirm the position of Han Thuyen as a major literary group in the historical process of Vietnamese literature in the years 1940 - 1945, existing like other literary groups that were shaped in the first half of the 20th century.
