  • Overview of the research situation related to vocabulary in the West, China and Vietnam;
  • Build a basic theoretical framework for survey and statistics;
  • Basically, a relatively complete and systematic survey of the vocabulary provided in the textbooks has been conducted according to 7 specific aspects;
  • Compare and point out the advantages of current Vietnamese textbooks as well as the shortcomings and limitations that need to be overcome;
  • Provide valuable suggestions and recommendations for correcting and improving the quality of current Vietnamese language teaching curriculum compilation;
  • Proposed list of common words (4000 words) for basic level (elementary, intermediate), selected in decreasing frequency from the thesis's corpus.
12. Practical application:
The research results as well as the recommendations and proposals of the thesis will help future textbook authors to effectively overcome current limitations in order to build more suitable and complete textbooks.

- Expand the scope of the survey, for example, survey all textbooks that have been and are being used in China;
- Expand the scope and subjects of research, for example, not only stopping at the basic level but also researching at both intermediate and advanced levels.
