This dissertation is the first in-depth and systematic research in Vietnam on Rousseau's political philosophy in terms of its significance for building a rule of law state in Vietnam today.

This dissertation provides a general analysis of the conditions and prerequisites for the emergence of Rousseau's political philosophical ideas.

This dissertation systematically analyzes the fundamental ideas of Rousseau's political philosophy, particularly through texts not only from his works that have been translated into Vietnamese, such as...Discussing the social contract, but also in other works of his that have not yet been translated into Vietnamese such asA discussion on inequality,Essay on Science and Art,In terms of political economy.The dissertation analyzes and systematizes Rousseau's political philosophical ideas in two aspects: (1) The indispensable fundamental ideas of the rule of law state such as social inequality, human beings and their natural rights, the common will, supreme sovereignty, and the social contract; (2) The idea of ​​the rule of law state as an institution for implementing human natural rights, including the idea of ​​the method of organizing and distributing state powers and the idea of ​​the separation and control of state powers.

This dissertation assesses some of the fundamental values, limitations, and influences of Rousseau's political philosophy, and then analyzes the significance of Rousseau's political philosophy for the construction of a rule of law state in Vietnam today, based on the historical context and specific conditions of building a socialist rule of law state of the people, by the people, and for the people in Vietnam.

11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis

This thesis is the first specialized and systematic academic work in Vietnam on Rousseau's political philosophy in terms of its significance for building of the rule of law in Vietnam today.

The thesis analyzed and generalized the conditions and prerequisites for the formation of Rousseau's political philosophy.

The thesis analyzed scientifically the main thoughts of Rousseau's political philosophy, especially through texts not only in his works translated into Vietnamese asThe Social Contract, but also in his other works which have not yet been translated into Vietnamese asDiscourse on Inequality,Discourse on the Sciences and the Arts,On Political Economy.

The thesis analyzed and systematized Rousseau's political philosophical thoughts in both respects: (1) essential fundamental thoughts for the rule of law as on social inequality, on man and the natural rights of man, on the general will, sovereignty and social contract; (2) The thoughts on the rule of law as an institution implementing the natural rights of men, including thought on organization and division forms of the state powers and thought on the distribution and control of state powers.

Thesis evaluates some values, limitations and main influences of Rousseau's political philosophy, and analyzes the significance of Rousseau's political philosophy for building the rule of law in Vietnam today on the basis of the historical context and the specific conditions for building of the rule of law as the socialist state of the people, by the people, for the people in Vietnam today.
