The thesis has reviewed domestic and international studies on nighttime tourism demand from visitors. Based on that, the author systematized the theoretical and practical issues regarding night tourism demand (concept, tourism demand, trends in tourism demand, night tourism, night tourism demand, night tourism products, components creating night tourism demand). Using observation, questionnaire interviews, and Excel data processing tools, the study revealed the current state of demand for services such as: demand for night-time food and beverage services, demand for night-time entertainment services, and demand for night-time shopping services. The research results show that international tourists visiting Hanoi at night enjoy street shopping, participating in street entertainment activities, and enjoying street food. However, the spending on night tourism activities by international tourists in Hanoi is not high, with only 6.2% of tourists spending over 2 million VND on night tourism activities in Hanoi. This necessitates diversifying night tourism products to meet demand. This encourages tourists to spend more, thereby generating revenue for tourism service businesses.
With the research results, solutions, and recommendations provided by the author, this study will serve as a basis for the Hanoi city government and tourism service businesses to understand the current state of demand for night tourism among international visitors. This will enable them to develop appropriate policies and solutions, stimulate night tourism, diversify tourism products for the capital city, and enhance the image of Hanoi in the eyes of tourists and international friends.
