11.1. Purpose and research objects of the thesis
Based on the basic theoretical issues of policy communication, the thesis presents specific cases in practice in a number of countries and analyzes the current status of policy communication for policy making in Vietnam, thereby proposing a number of solutions to improve the effectiveness of policy communication in public policy making in Vietnam in the coming time.
The thesis identifies the research object as policy communication in public policy making.
11. 2. Research methods used
• Content analysis method
The purpose of using the content analysis method of this thesis is mainly to collect and analyze the content of reference documents. From clarifying the concepts of tools to studying specific cases of countries and referring to the reality in Vietnam, this research method is needed. The thesis will use both domestic and foreign documents in parallel, especially foreign documents will be cited from reputable sources.
• In-depth interview method
To better understand the way of policy communication in Vietnam, the thesis will interview a few experts at state agencies and a few media agencies to have a specific view on the current situation of this activity in our country.
•Questionnaire survey method
The purpose of this method is to collect opinions from people, specifically the selected case is people in Hanoi, in addition to increasing diversity in collecting reference materials, also to understand the thoughts and attitudes towards the issue of the people surveyed.
• Comparison method
This method is used in the process of comparing specific cases in a number of countries and in Vietnam, and comparing them with the analytical framework.
• Case analysis method
will be used in analyzing real-life examples in other countries and in Vietnam.
