11.1. Purpose and scope of the thesis
Based on fundamental theoretical issues concerning policy communication, this thesis presents specific case studies from several countries and analyzes the current state of policy communication in policy planning in Vietnam. From this analysis, it proposes solutions to improve the effectiveness of policy communication in public policy planning in Vietnam in the future.
The thesis identifies policy communication in public policy planning as its research subject.
11.2. Research methods used
• Content analysis methods
The primary purpose of using content analysis methods in this thesis is to collect and analyze the content of reference materials. From clarifying conceptual tools to studying specific case studies in other countries and referencing them with the reality in Vietnam, this research method is necessary. The thesis will utilize both domestic and foreign materials, with foreign materials specifically cited from reputable sources.
• In-depth interview method
To gain a better understanding of how policy communication is conducted in Vietnam, this thesis will conduct interviews with several experts at government agencies and media outlets to obtain a specific perspective on the current state of this activity in our country.
Questionnaire survey method
The purpose of this method is to gather the opinions of the public, specifically residents of Hanoi, in the case of Hanoi. Besides increasing diversity in the collection of reference materials, it also aims to understand the thoughts and attitudes of those surveyed towards the issue.
• Comparative method
This method is used in the process of comparing specific cases in several countries and in Vietnam, and contrasting them with the analytical framework.
• Case analysis method
This will be used in analyzing real-world examples in various countries and in Vietnam.
