11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:
Studying dependent conjunctions in Vietnamese from the perspective of functional grammar, this thesis has identified the characteristics of dependent conjunctions in Vietnamese, thereby establishing a system of 103 dependent conjunctions in Vietnamese as the subject of study. The typical roles of dependent conjunctions in Vietnamese across three dimensions—synonymy, semantics, and pragmatics—have been identified and described in detail in this thesis. Specifically:
From a structural perspective, dependent conjunctions are connecting elements that indicate the main-subordinate grammatical relationship in the structure of phrases, sentences, and texts; they mark the syntactic functions of adverbial, subject, complement, and modifier; and they can function as conjunctions – an independent component of a sentence. Specifically, this thesis demonstrates that in the case of Vietnamese relational sentences, dependent conjunctions can function as predicates – one of the two main components of a sentence.
From a semantic perspective, dependent conjunctions can function as predicates in relational situations, actively participating in introducing and marking the presence of various types of participants (semantic roles). A dependent conjunction can introduce and mark many different types of participants, and a type of participant can be introduced and marked by multiple dependent conjunctions. Dependent conjunctions also serve as a means of expressing subjective attitudinal meaning, signifying the speaker's quantitative and qualitative assessments of the situation reflected in the sentence.
From a pragmatic perspective, dependent conjunctions serve as connectors in arguments, actively participating in introducing and connecting argumentative components: premises and conclusions in simple argumentative forms, including arguments with only one premise and arguments with more than one premise (simultaneous and contradictory arguments). For topic-predicate structures, dependent conjunctions are a means of marking pragmatic functions.topic, postscript, participate in the parttheoryand connect the elements in the sectiontheory.
12. Practical applications:
This dissertation can be used as a reference document for internal research and comparison of Vietnamese dependent conjunctions, and can also contribute to the compilation of dictionaries and reference books. The research results also provide guidance on understanding and using Vietnamese dependent conjunctions flexibly and effectively in sentence and text construction and in communication.
13. Future research directions:
The role of Vietnamese dependent conjunctions in relation to linguistic actions, information structure, implicit meaning, etc., at the pragmatic level has not yet been demonstrated in this thesis. This could be a subject of further research on dependent conjunctions in the future.

11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:
Receive onthe dependent relational words in Vietnamese from the perspective of functional grammar, vhe thesis has outlined the characteristics of gettingdependent relational wordsin Vietnamese, from there, has established the system ofdependent relational wordsin Vietnamese including 103dependent relational wordsThis system ofdependent relational wordsis the research object of the thesis.Typical roles of dependent relational words in Vietnamese on three aspects: syntactic, semantics and pragmatics have been presented and described particularly. Namely:
On the aspect ofSyntacticthedependent relational wordsis the factor that connects and denotes secondary main grammatical relations in the structure of phrases, sentences and texts; it is the factor that marks the syntactic positions: adverbial, topical phrase, object, determiner; it can undertake an independent part of the sentence. In particular, the thesis has shown that for the case of Vietnamese relational sentences, thedependent relational wordscan take on the position of a predicate - one of the two main components of the sentence.
On the aspect of semantics, thedependent relational words can take on a prime role in relationships, actively participate in the introduction and mark the presence of all kinds of arguments (meaning roles). A dependent relational word may introduce and mark many different types of arguments and a type of argument may be introduced and marked by many dependent relational words. The dependent relational words is also a means to express subjective status, indicating assessments of quantity and quality of the speaker for a situation reflected in a sentence.
On the pragmatic aspect, thedependent relational wordstake on a collusion role in reasoning, actively participate in introducing and connecting the components of argument: arguments and conclusions in simple form of reasoning, including reasoning with reasoning only one argument and reasoning with more than one argument (concurrent reasoning, contradictory). For the topic and comment structures, thedependent relational wordsare means of marking pragmatical functions such asTheme,Tailparticipating in thecommentand connecting elements in thecomment.
12. Practical applicability, if any:
The thesis can be used as a reference in research and internal comparison onthedependent relational wordsin Vietnamese, and at the same time contribute to the compilation of dictionaries and tool books. The research results also provide suggestions for understanding and usagethedependent relational wordsin Vietnamese flexibly and effectively in creating sentences, texts and in communication.
13. Further research direction, if any:
The role of thedependent relational words in Vietnamesefor language action, information structure, implicit meaning, ... in pragmatics has not yet been shown in the thesis. These may be the follow-up studies on thedependent relational wordsin the future.
