By 2026, Vietnam will have spent over three decades as a member of ASEAN and has become an increasingly active contributor to the development of the Association and the ASEAN Community, as well as contributing to promoting ASEAN's relations with external partners. In the context of the world in general, and the Asia-Pacific region and ASEAN countries facing numerous economic, political, and social challenges in recent years, increased cooperation between ASEAN countries and external partners, including South Korea, will help strengthen development, innovation, social progress, and consolidate cultural identity in the ASEAN region.
Contributing to the common effort to promote the development of ASEAN, the position of Vietnam, as well as strengthening ASEAN's relations with partners outside the region, the School The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, as a leading and prestigious university in Vietnam in training, research, and advising the government on social sciences and humanities issues, continues to strengthen cooperation with reputable universities and research institutes outside the country to increase research on ASEAN issues and ASEAN's relations with partners.
Within the framework of the Hanoi Autumn Humanities Forum, the School The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (specifically the Faculty of Oriental Studies) collaborated with Busan University (South Korea) and the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences to organize an international conference on issues facing ASEAN countries as well as ASEAN-Korea relations.
The workshop will be an important opportunity for the University to collaborate with partners to gather research results and discussions from scholars both domestically and internationally, thereby contributing to advising the government on the development direction of ASEAN and Vietnam. In particular, this collaboration will further strengthen the cooperative relationship between the University and Busan University (especially the ASEAN Research Institute) as well as with the Institute of Literature (Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences), thus contributing to affirming the University's position domestically and internationally.
The conference serves as an academic forum for domestic and international scientists to share the latest research findings on ASEAN, ASEAN issues, and ASEAN-Korea cooperation. The conference is expected to bring together approximately 100 researchers from Vietnam and abroad.
Scientific papers presented at the conference, once completed, may be submitted to SUVANNABHUMI (Southeast Asian Studies Multidisciplinary Journal (SCOPUS)) or the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities.
