Information about the International Scientific Conference: “Linguistics and Vietnamese Studies in the New Context: Challenges and Opportunities”

I. REASONS AND OBJECTIVES FOR ORGANIZING SEMINARS, CONFERENCES, AND WORKSHOPS
1. Background and reasons for organizing the event.
In the context of ongoing globalization, digital transformation, and international integration, linguistics and Vietnamese studies are facing profound changes in both research methods and application scope. Digital technology, big data, artificial intelligence, intercultural exchange, and the development of the Vietnamese diaspora have created new demands in identifying, researching, and teaching the Vietnamese language, Vietnamese culture, and related interdisciplinary issues.
The international scientific conference “Linguistics and Vietnamese Studies in the New Era: Challenges and Opportunities” was organized to meet the urgent need for academic exchange, updating modern research trends, and promoting international cooperation in these two important scientific fields.
This activity affirms the role of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – VNU Hanoi in the interdisciplinary research ecosystem on language, culture, and Vietnamese studies in Vietnam and the region.
2. Purpose and expected results
- To create an international forum for exchanging new research findings in linguistics, Vietnamese studies, and related fields.
- Discussing new research trends in the context of digital transformation, cultural exchange, and international integration.
- Strengthen research cooperation among universities, research centers, and international scholars.
- Promote applied research in teaching Vietnamese as a foreign language, cultural preservation, and the development of digital resources.
- Aiming to publish International Conference Proceedings (ISBN) and select high-quality papers for publication in specialized journals.

- Overseas partners: Wenzao University (Taiwan) and several other partners.

Approximately 150-200 delegates, including:
- Vietnamese delegates (lecturers, scientists, postgraduate students, doctoral candidates).
- International delegates (Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, the United States, Thailand, ...).

Vietnamese digital data repository and interdisciplinary research.
Digital tools for Vietnamese studies and linguistic research.
Session 4: Teaching Vietnamese and International Cultural Exchange

Intercultural communication and the identification of Vietnamese culture in an international environment.
