Call for papers: “Linguistics and Vietnamese Studies in the New Era: Challenges and Opportunities”

We are pleased to announce a call for papers for the international conference titled "Linguistics and Vietnamese Studies in the New Era: Challenges and Opportunities". It will be held on October 24–25, 2026, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU-USSH), No. 336 Nguyen Trai Street, Hanoi, Vietnam.
Background:In the context of today's rapidly changing science and technology, linguistics must also evolve to align with interdisciplinarity and academic diversity worldwide. Fundamental research needs to be continuously maintained, while applied research should be further developed, particularly trends in applying AI to language teaching and training in general, and to Vietnamese linguistics in particular.
Vietnamese Studies has been a distinctive field of training at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) from its early history to the present. With the mission of disseminating linguistic and cultural values ​​to the world, USSH is a long-established and reputable educational and training institution not only in Vietnam but also internationally. With this special mission, Vietnamese Studies must innovate even more strongly to keep pace with the trends of the times, especially in the context of the Industrial Revolution 4.0.
The conference is a prestigious international forum, bringing together many speakers from different countries and providing an opportunity to exchange ideas on related issues aimed at improving the quality of education and training at USSH in particular and Vietnam in general.
Conference Themes
We invite submissions that critically engage with the following themes, but are not limited to:
- Linguistics in the new era: Any issue related to Theoretical Linguistics
- Vietnamese Studies in the new era: Any issue related to Vietnamese Studies
- Applications in Linguistics: focus on Language and AI, Speech-Language Pathology
- National Report on Linguistics and Vietnamese Studies in the Context of Technology and Integration: Direction for Training Policies and Vietnamese Language Teaching Policies and Vietnamese Language Teaching Policies Associated with Digital Technology (Artificial Intelligence - AI).
Important dates:
- Submission (Abstract and Full paper): Send email to ngonguhoc@ussh.edu.vn
- Abstract submission: Until June 1, 2026
- Notification of accepted papers: June 15, 2026
- Full paper submission deadline: July 31, 2026
- Official registration of General Participants: Until August 31, 2026

Conference Information:
1. Registration: Free.
2. Certificates will be awarded directly at the conference panels.
3. To ease your travel burden, we are committed to ensuring no additional attendance fees (such as registration fees or on-site meals). However, we kindly reserve the right to adjust the services provided based on the annual budget.
4. Please note that no late abstracts or full papers will be accepted after the deadline, as the online system will be closed.
5. As a general guideline, only one paper submission will be accepted per participant.
6. We kindly ask all presenters and participants to cover their own airfare to Hanoi, Vietnam.
7. Complimentary meals will be provided during the conference.
Additionally, we are pleased to offer an optional complimentary half-day Hanoi tour (Scheduled for 1:30 PM on October 25, 2026). Kindly ensure you inform us in advance during registration if you wish to participate in the tour.
