Many practical application studies such as 3D GIS system in telecommunications network infrastructure design, building blood donation application on Android, cadastral management application... Notably, more than half of his research works are applied in leading countries in science and technology such as the US, Italy, Germany... Associate Professor Son published more than 180 works and articles in foreign journals in the ISI list. He is also a face in the top 10,000 outstanding scientists in the world for 4 consecutive years 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022.
Dr. Phung Van Phuc, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, ranked 958, in the field of Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace. Associate Professor Phuc is a Vietnamese scientist familiar in world rankings, he has been on the list of 100,000 influential scientists for 4 consecutive years. world best
35 Vietnamese among the world's most influential scientists
In 2022, the number of Vietnamese scientists in thelistThe "100,000 most influential scientists" are 35, an increase of 6 people compared to the previous year. They were selected based on many indicators, including the total number of research citations. The ranking was released by a group of scientists led by Professor John PA Ioannidis of Stanford University (USA), built on the basis of exploiting the Scopus database.
In the top 10,000 scientists in the world, Vietnam has 2 scientists: Associate Professor, Dr. Le Hoang Son and Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc (Hanoi National University). Both scientists are in the top 4 in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.

This year's list has many new faces, such as Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Quang Trung (Ho Chi Minh City National University, ranked 47,614), Dr. Dao Van Duong (Phenikaa University, ranked 61,711), Dr. Vuong Quan Hoang (Phenikaa University, ranked 61,452), Dr. Chu Dinh Toi (International School, Hanoi National University, ranked 66,906).
World's talented young scientist honored by UNESCO
Associate Professor Dr. Ho Thi Thanh Van (42 years old) along with 14 outstanding young female scientists representing 5 continents received the 2022 World Talent Young Scientist Award. This prestigious award is part of the For the Development of Women in Science program, initiated by the L'Oréal Foundation and UNESCO, honoring female scientists in the fields of Life Sciences, Environment, Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science.

Associate Professor Van has made outstanding contributions to the field of fuel cells. Associate Professor Van's work has replaced platinum in fuel cells, helping to reduce costs while making the battery more durable. The research is considered to help optimize the operation of fuel cells to improve efficiency and enable sustainable hydrogen energy production, avoiding the burning of fossil fuels and reducing carbon emissions.
She has published 90 articles in domestic and foreign journals and won many prestigious national and international science and technology awards. In 2019, Associate Professor Van received the Outstanding Female Scientist of Vietnam 2019 award. In 2020, she was ranked in the top 23/100 outstanding Asian scientists by Asian Scientist magazine. She is currently a lecturer, Head of the Department of Science, Technology and International Relations, Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment.
First Vietnamese scientist receives Korean astronomy award
The year 2022 marked Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Chi Thiem (43 years old) as the first Vietnamese to receive the award for the scientist with the most outstanding research achievements in the past 10 years from the Korean Astronomical Society. This award honors a scientist (working in Korea) with outstanding research achievements and proven through meaningful research works, recognized by the international community.

Associate Professor Thiem is a Senior Researcher at the Korea Space and Astronomy Science Institute (KASI) and an Associate Professor at the Korea University of Science and Technology. He received his PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA in 2012, and was subsequently awarded a postdoctoral fellowship by the Canadian Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics and the Humboldt Foundation (Germany). His main research interests are dust and magnetic fields in the universe, aiming to shed light on the origin of stars, planets and the existence of life in the universe.
Professor Abraham (Avi) Loeb, an astrophysicist at Harvard University (USA), once assessed that Associate Professor Thiem was the first person to demonstrate the serious damage to high-speed spacecraft due to collisions with gas and dust in the interstellar medium, and at the same time proposed an optimal design to protect spacecraft. In addition to his work on the orientation of dust particles in the universe, he also studied pioneering theoretical calculations for interstellar travel using radiation pressure. This is a new but promising research direction for the future.
Last year, Associate Professor Thiem and two scientists, Dr. Nguyen Trong Hien (NASA, USA, group leader) and Dr. Nguyen Luong Quang (American University, in Paris, France) established the Astrophysics Group (SAGI) with the desire to contribute to the development of astrophysics in Vietnam. The group operates under the management of the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research and Education IFIRSE, under ICISE (Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh), where Professor Tran Thanh Van presided over the construction with the desire to become a common home for scientists.
The only Vietnamese person to receive the Royal Aeronautical Society Award
Dr. Nguyen Huyen Duc (27 years old), University of Bristol (UK), is one of 10 people honored in the Young Persons' Achievement Award category - an achievement award for young people - with special contributions in the field of aerospace 2022. Dr. Duc is the only Vietnamese person honored in this list.

Dr. Duc received his MEng (engineering degree) in 2019 and successfully defended his PhD thesis in aerospace engineering at the University of Bristol in 2021. He continues to undertake research and teaching roles at the university to date and has published 8 articles in Q1 scientific journals (all as first author) and 10 conference reports.
Dr. Duc's main research interests are aircraft dynamics and automatic control in the production of composite materials used in the aerospace industry. He is particularly interested in branching methods and the application of dynamic systems to solve aerospace problems.

Professor Nguyen Thi Kim Thanh, University College London (UCL) is one of three scientists to win the 2022 Interdisciplinary Prize, in recognition of outstanding contributions to research and innovation. She has made interdisciplinary contributions to fundamental research on chemical synthesis, magnetic and plasmonic nanomaterials for biomedical applications. These studies can have direct benefits in improving the life expectancy of cancer patients.
Prof. Kim Thanh graduated with a degree in chemistry from Vietnam National University, Hanoi in 1992. She was appointed as a professor at University College London (UCL) in 2013 and leads an advanced interdisciplinary research group on the design and synthesis of nanomaterials for biomedical applications. In 2019, Prof. Thanh received the Rosalind Franklin Medal for her influential achievements in the research of nanomaterial applications in biomedicine.
