The expectation is that the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will always be a leading force within the Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

Attending the Congress were representatives from the Hanoi City Party Committee; the Party Committee and Board of Directors of Vietnam National University, Hanoi; representatives from Party branches under the Party Committee of Vietnam National University, Hanoi; and 177 Party member delegates from Party branches under the University's Party Committee.

 

At the Congress, Comrade Pham Xuan Thach - Secretary of the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, term XXVII - presented a report on the results of implementing the tasks and powers of the Party Committee's Executive Board, term XXVII, since the 28th Party Congress, with three main points.
Accordingly, the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held its 28th Congress of Delegates for the 2020-2025 term on June 27, 2020, with three contents as per Conclusion No. 396-KL/DU dated June 15, 2020, of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Vietnam National University, Hanoi. According to this conclusion, the Executive Committee of the Party Committee and the Inspection Committee of the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, 27th term (2015-2020), will continue to perform their duties and exercise their powers as stipulated.
Despite numerous personnel changes throughout the period, the Party Committee and its Standing Committee issued 119 Conclusions and 1 thematic Resolution. Of these, 96 Conclusions were addressed by the Party Committee's departments, affiliated Party branches, and the School's Board of Directors on schedule.
 

At the second round of the Party Congress, delegates elected the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, term 2020-2025, consisting of 15 members. Following this, the Executive Committee of the University's Party Committee held its first meeting and elected the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, comprising three members: Comrade Hoang Anh Tuan (Rector of the University); Comrade Dang Thi Thu Huong (Secretary of the Party Branch, Director of the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training); and Comrade Dao Thanh Truong (Vice Rector). Comrade Hoang Anh Tuan was elected as the Deputy Secretary of the University's Party Committee, and Comrade Dao Thanh Truong was elected as the Chairman of the Party Committee's Inspection Committee.

Delivering a keynote address at the Congress, the Party Secretary and Director of VNU emphasized: The 177 official delegates attending the Congress today are undertaking an extremely important task, which is to wisely elect a new Executive Committee with sufficient virtue, talent, and vision to implement the Party Committee's Resolution.
Director Le Quan believes that in all circumstances and stages of development, human beings are always the most important factor and the root of all development in society. The field of social sciences and humanities has always been a crucial pillar in the overall development of Vietnam National University, Hanoi in particular and society as a whole. In the coming time, within the overall achievements of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is expected to be a bright spot with outstanding contributions, worthy of being the leading institution within the entire Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
The Secretary of the Party Committee of VNU Hanoi pledged that VNU Hanoi will always stand alongside the University and expressed confidence that, with the strength of unity and concerted effort, the University's Party Committee will successfully implement the Resolution set forth by the 28th Congress of the University's Party Committee.

The Resolution of the 28th Congress of the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities states: DirectionTo leverage the Party's leadership role in comprehensively reforming all aspects of activities to develop the University of Social Sciences and Humanities into a research university, affirming its national and international standing and contributing to the development of Vietnam National University, Hanoi and the country in the new era. Overall objectiveStrengthening the leadership role of Party committees at all levels; promoting the traditions, strengths, and position of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities; mobilizing all resources for the comprehensive development of the University, proactively pursuing university autonomy; implementing breakthrough innovations in organizational and personnel work, training, scientific research, and advanced university governance; applying modern technology in all fields to develop the University into a research university; providing high-quality human resources in social sciences and humanities to meet the requirements of national development in the context of the fourth industrial revolution and international integration. Implementation measuresWe are determined to implement comprehensive, synchronized, focused, and targeted reforms with an appropriate roadmap to build and develop the school. The key tasks include: The first:Enhancing the Party's leadership role and Party building work. Strengthening the Party's direct, comprehensive, and absolute leadership in formulating major, key development policies and plans for the University; emphasizing the role of Party committees at all levels in political and ideological work; building organizational structures, managing and developing the staff; launching and ensuring the quality of training programs; directing the development and implementation of development projects; major research topics, scientific research tasks, domestic and international cooperation relationships, and the University's administrative work. Monday:Focus on building and developing a team of officials and experts through recruitment; develop a team development plan based on field groups, competency frameworks, and job title standards; provide training and professional development for officials; and implement policies to attract, encourage, honor, and reward highly qualified scientists. Tuesday:Comprehensively reform training methods, review and evaluate to restructure training disciplines, encourage the development of high-quality, socially-oriented training programs; invest in student recruitment, especially postgraduate recruitment; strengthen the linkages between training programs and improve the information technology infrastructure to meet quality requirements and support the innovation of training methods. Wednesday:Promote scientific research, create high-quality scientific products and policy advice, especially outstanding products in the social sciences and humanities. Thursday:Effectively apply advanced university management models and methods, and diversify material resources.
