Opening Ceremony of the Official Accreditation Survey for the Bachelor's Degree Program in Archival Studies

The opening ceremony of the evaluation program was attended by Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa (Vice Rector), Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Duc Thuan (Head of the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management), along with representatives from relevant functional units and the entire staff and lecturers of the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management.

Professor Pham Quang Minh (Rector) delivered the opening remarks and emphasized: “The goal of evaluating the quality of training programs is to identify strengths and weaknesses, and to find appropriate solutions for the development of each unit in particular and the entire University in general.” The Rector remarked that this is a very necessary activity and should be organized regularly to identify existing problems and improve the “output standards” of each academic discipline.

Dr. Truong Chi Hien – Head of the Expert Evaluation Team – highly appreciated the attention and guidance of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities' leadership in ensuring the quality of training in general and the quality accreditation of training programs in particular. The external evaluation team will operate in accordance with the regulations and guidelines in Circular No. 04/2016/TT/BGDĐT and other relevant documents. The evaluation team hopes to share knowledge and assessments on the quality of the Archival Studies training program so that the Faculty and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi can correctly identify strengths and weaknesses and, from there, develop appropriate plans for improving and enhancing the quality of Archival Studies training in the future.

Associate Professor Dr. Dao Duc Thuan introduced the Faculty and its undergraduate program in Archival Studies. He emphasized that the Archival Studies program at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is one of the oldest and most up-to-date training programs, and that the Faculty is currently a leading institution in the country for Archival Studies training. Currently, the Faculty offers Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees in Archival Studies.

Next, the expert team conducted the following activities: interviewing the group writing the self-assessment report, interviewing the heads of departments and faculties, the Faculty Council, interviewing lecturers, surveying facilities, etc.
