Exchange of quality assessment experiences with Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy

Speaking at the meeting, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa, on behalf of the University, emphasized the importance of quality assessment activities of training programs for the education and training career of universities. As a unit under VNU, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities always focuses on and has started implementing training quality assessment since 2008.

The school has achieved some encouraging results, conducting quality assessment with 24 training programs, of which 8 programs have been accredited according to AUN-QA standards of the ASEAN University Network. With these achievements, the school is ready to exchange experiences with other universities such as Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, to jointly improve the effectiveness of this important work.

On behalf of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Chinh expressed his thanks for welcoming the delegation and expressed his confidence in learning from the experience of ensuring the quality of training programs from a school with a long tradition like the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy hopes that the two schools can cooperate more in the future.

Next, the audience listened to Dr. Tran Thuy Anh (Director of the Center for Education Quality Assurance) share experiences in assessing the quality of training programs of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The presentation introduced the goals and achievements of the University in quality assessment, as well as basic assessment processes, including self-assessment, external assessment and online assessment. Experience in activities such as writing and completing reports, collecting evidence, preparing facilities, interviewing stakeholders, translating reports, etc. were presented and illustrated with specific examples.

The audience asked questions and discussed issues such as how to divide self-assessment groups according to the standards of the assessment criteria set, the role of the unit's leadership in completing the self-assessment report, the establishment of an internal assessment council, planning to develop a training program according to the criteria, and budgeting for assessment activities, etc.
