New points in 10th grade admission for Social Sciences and Humanities in 2024Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong, Vice Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Chairwoman of the Admissions Council for Grade 10 of the Social Sciences and Humanities High School, said that this year, 1,509 candidates registered to take the entrance exam to the school. Of which, the Literature class had the highest number of registered candidates with 928 candidates. The History and Geography classes had 314 and 267 registrations, respectively. The school recruited 140 students for the 10th grade, with 70 candidates specializing in Literature, 35 candidates specializing in History, and 35 candidates specializing in Geography. The number of candidates taking the exam was 1,364 candidates.
The inspection team of Hanoi National University and the Examination Steering Committee came to inspect the organization of the examination rooms.
The new point in the 10th grade admission in 2024 compared to previous years is that candidates only take the essay test on specialized subjects within 150 minutes. For the conditional subjects, the school considers the application according to the following criteria: Candidates achieve an average score for the whole year in the subjects: Math, Literature, Foreign Language of each year of grade 6, grade 7, grade 8 and an average score of the first semester in Math, Literature, Foreign Language of grade 9 from 7.0 or higher according to the general education program of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam. Special cases are considered and decided by the Admissions Council.
In case many candidates have the same score at the end of the list, priority will be given to admission according to the following order of conditions: (1) Won a prize in the provincial or municipal secondary school excellent student exam, the subject won is the subject the candidate took the specialized exam (if there are many candidates who won a prize at the end of the list, the prize will be considered from high to low). (2) Obtained an international English certificate that is valid for 2 years at the time of the application deadline. IELTS Academic English certificate with a minimum score of 4.5 or higher, TOEFL ITP with a minimum score of 460 or higher, TOEFL iBT with a minimum score of 45 or higher will be counted from high to low. Note, candidates who have not submitted a Certificate of winning a prize in the excellent student exam or a foreign language certificate, please send it to the Training Department between June 3 and 7, 2024.

Excitedly stepping out of the exam room, Nguyen Phuong Giang - a student at Doan Thi Diem Secondary School, Hanoi, said that this year's Literature exam was quite new, bringing excitement to candidates. Phuong Giang shared that she chose to take the entrance exam to the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities because this is a dynamic learning environment, providing students with many useful activities. In addition, the school also has many scholarship and support policies for students to develop their personal abilities.

Organizing exams safely, disciplined and fairlyThe University of Social Sciences and Humanities has made careful preparations for the entrance exam to specialized high schools, ensuring that the exam is conducted seriously, fairly, objectively, and safely for candidates. More than 230 staff, lecturers, and student volunteers have been mobilized to participate in the organization of the exam.
Right from the entrance to the examination area, the school arranged for students and volunteers to participate in traffic control and guide and encourage candidates and parents. The system of signs, examination rooms, council rooms and waiting rooms for parents were carefully arranged, safe and convenient for the organization of the examination.
From 6am, volunteers will participate in traffic control, guiding candidates and parents.
Candidates are given detailed instructions on exam regulations by volunteers before entering the exam area.
