This information was exchanged at a meeting between the leaders of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) and the Vietnam Navy this morning, June 15, 2024.
Attending the working session were Major General Hoang Hong Ha - Rear Admiral, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam Navy, along with representatives of the Navy leadership. Representing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, were Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the university; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thanh Nam - Vice Chairman of the University Council and Head of the Training Department, along with leaders of various functional departments.
Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, expressed the university's gratitude in awarding scholarships to the Navy of the Vietnam People's Army.
During the meeting, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan expressed that, with 80 years of tradition, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, is a leading institution in research and training in the field of social sciences and humanities. The university's training structure is comprehensive, with 92 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs. Rector Hoang Anh Tuan shared the policy of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, to fulfill national responsibility by awarding scholarships to naval soldiers who have successfully completed their national duties, enabling them to study and improve their knowledge upon returning to serve the cause of national defense. Accordingly, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will award 100 full scholarships to naval soldiers who have successfully completed their military service and passed the entrance exams for various programs (both full-time and part-time) at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities starting from 2025. Furthermore, as a student of VNU-USSH, you will have the opportunity to benefit from many support policies for students of the university, such as academic achievement scholarships, talent attraction scholarships for students in 9 basic majors, and scholarships from organizations and businesses outside the budget...
Major General Hoang Hong Ha - Rear Admiral, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam Navy, delivered a speech at the working session.
Expressing his gratitude for the sentiments of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Major General Hoang Hong Ha stated that the university's scholarship fund will be a great motivation for naval soldiers to continue to fulfill their duties in protecting the homeland, expanding opportunities for developing their abilities, ethics, and career prospects after completing their service. This demonstrates the policy of care and consideration of the Party and State in general, and Vietnam National University, Hanoi, University of Social Sciences and Humanities in particular, towards the naval forces.
Major General Hoang Hong Ha emphasized that this scholarship program is the first of its kind implemented at VNU-USSH as well as the Navy, and it marks the beginning of further cooperation activities between the two units.
It is expected that the two sides will soon sign a memorandum of cooperation to realize the above-mentioned policy.
Associate Professor Bui Thanh Nam - Vice Chairman of the University Council, Head of the Training Department, discussed issues in coordinating recruitment to select capable naval officers with a passion for learning and research to participate in training programs at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Representatives of the leadership of the Vietnam Navy Command exchanged views at the working session.
Professor Hoang Anh Tuan presented a commemorative gift to Major General Hoang Hong Ha.
