Scientific seminar "Korean Language and Culture from the Perspective of Vietnamese Students"

On May 27, 2023, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, successfully organized a scientific seminar titled "Korean Language and Culture from the Perspective of Vietnamese Students" in Thai Nguyen.
 


To continue implementing the next steps in the Korean Studies Seed Project (해외한국학 씨앗형 사업 AKS - USSH), in collaboration with the University of Science, Thai Nguyen University and Ha Long University, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, organized a scientific seminar entitled "Korean Language and Culture from the Perspective of Vietnamese Students" at the Auditorium on the 5th floor of the Administration Building, University of Science, Thai Nguyen University, with interesting presentations and lively discussions.
The seminar was attended by over 60 lecturers and students from the Korean Studies and Korean Language departments of three participating universities. Notably present were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham The Chinh, Vice Rector of the University of Science, Thai Nguyen University; Dr. Le Thi Thu Giang, Head of Project Coordination Board, Head of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Dr. Luu Tuan Anh, Head of the Korean Studies Department, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; and Dr. Le Tuan Son, Lecturer in the Korean Language Department, Ha Long University..
Associate Professor Pham The Chinh, Vice Rector of the University of Science, Thai Nguyen University, delivered a speech at the seminar.
 
In the first session, chaired by Dr. Luu Tuan Anh (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi) and Dr. Duong Thi Huyen (University of Science - Thai Nguyen University), there were presentations related to "Korean Language and Literature".

Topic: “Methods of learning Korean outside of class hours for students” - Student Ha Van Duc (University of Science, Thai Nguyen University). Discussion: Dr. Ha Minh Thanh (University of Social Sciences and Humanities), Ms. Nguyen Diep Linh (Ha Long University)
Student Nguyen Thi Thu Hang (University of Social Sciences and Humanities) with the topic: Gender inequality in Korean families viewed from reality to film – The case of “Kim Ji-young, born in 1982”. Discussion: Dr. Duong Thi Huyen (University of Science, Thai Nguyen University), Dr. Nguyen T. Huyen Trang (University of Science, Thai Nguyen University)
The discussion was lively.
In the second session on "Korean Culture," chaired by Dr. Le Thi Thu Giang (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi) and Dr. Nguyen Minh Tuan (Faculty of Science, Thai Nguyen University), many interesting topics were presented, leading to lively discussions.

Topic: “The Influence of Korean Music on Students of the University of Science – Thai Nguyen University” - Student Nong Thi Ly (University of Science, Thai Nguyen University). Discussion: Dr. Nguyen Thuy Giang (University of Social Sciences and Humanities), Ms. Dong Thi Yen (University of Social Sciences and Humanities)
The lecturers listened to the report.
Throughout the seminar, students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities listened attentively to the presentations, delivered strong reports, and received valuable feedback from the lecturers on the discussion panel.
After a period of presentations and lively discussions, the scientific seminar concluded successfully. Finally, Dr. Le Thi Thu Giang (Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi) delivered the closing remarks, extending her best wishes for health and success to the delegates, lecturers, and students.
