In his opening remarks, the Principal mentioned the general context when the Covid-19 pandemic made the events at the beginning of the school year more "special" than every year, because teachers and students of all systems were forced to get used to all activities taking place on an online platform. However, the Principal emphasized that the opening ceremony of the 2021-2022 school year will still be a special moment to mark a new milestone in the journey of building and developing the School, "where we make breakthroughs together while still maintaining the Humanity".

After 76 years of tradition and 26 years of construction, the two words "Humanity" have become a prestigious brand in the Vietnamese higher education community. Overcoming the difficulties of the early days of national integration, in the mid-1990s, generations of cadres, civil servants and students of the School made efforts to complete the organizational system, determined to build a training program system, resolutely innovate educational philosophy, and devote themselves to expanding domestic and international connections. To this day, the image of a higher education institution named the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU has been affirmed with nearly 550 cadres, more than 8,000 students, nearly 2,000 students, postgraduates and more than 500 domestic and international partners.

“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the previous generations of teachers and administrators who have made efforts to foster the tradition of the Faculty of Literature - General - Humanities and sincerely thank the generations of students who have contributed to building the simple yet proud brand of Humanities today”. The Principal also specially congratulated nearly 150 new students, more than 2,000 new students, more than 400 new students and graduate students who passed the entrance exams and selection in 2021 to become part of the common home of Humanities.

On average, each semester, the School has about 1,500 classes with more than 55,000 learners. Students of 27 training majors have graduated on time and ahead of schedule with good results. School staff have made efforts to overcome the difficulties of the situation to effectively carry out training and scientific research activities. Domestic and foreign partners still trust and continue cooperation programs and support for staff and students of the School.
