Faculty members/researchers annually publish an average of 3.06 articles per person in prestigious domestic and international scientific journals, which are recognized by the State Council for Professor Titles. Notably, in the last five years, the number of articles, book chapters, or monographs published in English and French has increased significantly, with approximately 40 international articles, 12 book chapters, and 1 monograph.
Faculty members have participated in numerous community service and social service projects. Over the past thirty years, the Faculty has successfully developed and promoted international cooperation with partners from approximately 20 countries.
According to the Head of the Sociology Department, Trinh Van Tung, the Department is facing new challenges. These include numerous government policy documents that have created a new legal framework for universities to move towards autonomy in personnel, organization, finance, and training programs. It also marks the entry into the Industry 4.0 era, where digital citizenship is a mandatory standard and criterion for lecturers, researchers, and students. Deeper international integration demands that all staff, including support staff, possess strong foreign language skills. Global labor, employment, and careers are changing hourly, further accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, forcing everyone to be constantly flexible and adaptable. The government's entrepreneurship policy encourages innovation, creativity, and the ability to create jobs by applying acquired knowledge and skills.

In the upcoming development phase, the faculty, researchers, and generations of students in the Department of Sociology are also seizing new opportunities. Firstly, the opportunity for each individual to assert themselves is increasing, as their unique characteristics and personalities are increasingly recognized and respected. Secondly, the leadership, support, and guidance of the Party Committee, the Board of Directors, and the functional departments of the University are creating many favorable conditions for each individual to fully develop their potential. Thirdly, university autonomy provides the Department in particular, and the University in general, with additional resources to reinvest in human resources, and in training and practice in sociology and social work.

Professor Hoang Anh Tuan (Rector of the University) delivered a speech at the commemoration ceremony.

On behalf of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors, Rector Hoang Anh Tuan extended warm congratulations to the Faculty on this special anniversary. The University leadership highly appreciates the quality of the Faculty's staff, with 80% holding PhDs and over 30% holding Associate Professorships, all of whom are well-trained and highly specialized. In the early years of integration, the Party and State considered building the field of Sociology and Social Work as a transitional discipline alongside traditional social sciences and humanities, aiming for a balance between integration and fundamental principles. While Sociology excels in policy depth, Social Work focuses on applying theory to real-world social contexts. The two disciplines blend to create a strong professional foundation, serving both practical social needs. Over the past period, with stable development and growth, the Faculty's training and research results have been impressive. Tens of thousands of students across all programs have graduated. During the past academic year, the university published nearly 150 international scientific articles, and the Faculty of Sociology contributed more than 20 articles to journals and book chapters.
In the coming period, in response to the demands for innovation and integration in education in general and the field of social sciences and humanities in particular, including the sociology and social work ngành, the University expects the Faculty to continue to be a strong training and research unit with abundant potential; a leading institution making worthy contributions to the achievements and position of the University domestically and internationally.
