Dear:Dear Teachers, Lecturers, and Staff of the School!
On the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20th, on behalf of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi, I respectfully extend my deepest gratitude and warmest congratulations to all teachers, lecturers, and generations of staff and employees of the University!

The Covid-19 pandemic forced the majority of the University's activities to be conducted online for nearly two years. Despite this, teaching and learning activities were maintained in both scale and quality (an average of 1,500 courses per semester with approximately 55,000 students), students graduated on time or ahead of schedule with high results, enrollment targets were met and exceeded, training programs continued to undergo quality accreditation, the social sciences field of VNU was ranked 501-600 globally for the first time by Times Higher Education; University staff continued to effectively implement training, scientific research, and community service activities; and domestic and international partners continued to trust and cooperate in science and education…
These encouraging results are due not only to the guidance and support of Hanoi National University and the enthusiastic assistance of partners, but also to the dedication of the university's staff and students. Overcoming all difficulties and challenges, the university's staff and faculty are demonstrating a dynamic, creative, innovative, integrated, and entrepreneurial image of humanities; a modern image of humanities built upon tradition; an image of humanities that is both academic and scholarly with a liberal arts and general studies style, yet integrated and entrepreneurial in the context of a rapidly changing labor market in the Fourth Industrial Revolution... Today's alumni not only work in the fields of science and education, participate in the political and social fields of the country, but also become successful entrepreneurs in the fields of construction, technology, media, and digitalization… These multifaceted impacts firmly reinforce our belief in the university's "Breakthrough while remaining Humanistic" philosophy in the coming years!

The 2021-2022 academic year will present many challenges due to the continued complexity of the Covid-19 pandemic. Besides ensuring the safety of staff and students to successfully complete the academic year's plans and tasks, the University has identified several key tasks for the new academic year and the coming years: Breakthroughs in the development of the scientific staff; Diversifying research topics, increasing the number of topics linked to internationally published products to support the development of staff needing to improve their academic rank; Innovating training by increasing investment in elite training in traditional basic sciences, expanding the scope for applied fields with high student demand, and restructuring postgraduate training programs. Optimizing space and modernizing facilities at the Thuong Dinh campus, collaborating with VNU to implement the project of building the university's facilities in Hoa Lac, strengthening digital transformation in training and research, and moving towards successfully building a modern digital governance system within the university; Diversifying revenue sources – ensuring reasonable and compliant expenditures, with a focus on prioritizing strong and direct investment in staff to create breakthroughs in scientific human resources in the coming years; Overcoming all obstacles, stabilizing and improving the material and spiritual well-being of all university staff and employees.
To achieve these specific goals, the unity, solidarity, and consensus of the school's staff and faculty are crucial. I hope that the teachers will continue to work together to further innovate, integrate, and develop the school.
Once again, I wish all teachers and their families good health, happiness, and success!
