On the evening of October 15, 2014, more than 300 student volunteers from various faculties and departments gathered in the auditorium on the 8th floor of building E at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Many pleasant surprises
The closing ceremony of the 2014 Summer Volunteer Program and the Green Humanities Volunteer Day were filled with many pleasant surprises compared to previous years. Notable among them were the diverse artistic performances and talent shows from the student volunteers themselves, including singing, dancing, and flash mobs, which received enthusiastic support and applause from the other student volunteers.
Perhaps most uniquely, this year's summer volunteer year-end celebration featured an exciting challenge for the volunteers: the "Volunteer Millionaire Hot Seat" game show. With 15 questions revolving around the 2014 summer volunteer campaign, each volunteer group nominated one member to participate. Players took turns answering questions; if they answered incorrectly, they passed the opportunity to another participant. Ultimately, thanks to his excellence and luck, the team leader of the Khanh Thuong commune volunteer group in Ba Vi district, Nguyen Thanh Dat, emerged victorious, winning a prize of 2 million VND for his team.
During the ceremony, the Hanoi Youth Union, the Youth Union - Student Association of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and the Youth Union - Student Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities awarded numerous certificates of merit and recognition to student volunteers for their incredibly meaningful contributions, demonstrating the spirit of the youth of the humanities during the summer of 2014.
At the end of the ceremony, each student volunteer surely felt a mix of emotions. A summer that was far from meaningless has come to an end. The 2014 summer volunteer program has concluded, and we – each of us in our green uniforms – have gained many meaningful memories, made many new friends and brothers, acquired new skills, and most importantly, grown personally. We hope that at the 2015 summer volunteer closing ceremony, the youth of the Faculty of Humanities will achieve even more significant results and accomplishments, creating another successful summer volunteer program like this one.
