Attending the ceremony were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Duc (Vice Director of VNU Hanoi), Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities), Prof. Vu Duong Ninh (Chairman of the Association of Retired Teachers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities), along with teachers, staff, students, and trainees from all generations of the University.
In his welcoming speech, the Rector expressed his deep gratitude to the generations of teachers and veteran educators who made significant contributions to the early establishment and development of the school; and to the teachers, staff, and employees of the school who have been dedicated and enthusiastic in research and teaching, work and study, contributing wholeheartedly to the building of the school as well as the process of development, integration, and modernization of the national education system.

Thanks to the contributions of its faculty, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has achieved impressive results in many areas of activity over the past years, affirming its position as a leading university in Vietnam and actively taking steps towards deeper integration with regional and global education. In 2013, the University completed the plan for the development of majors and specialized training programs until 2020 and implemented a plan to open several new majors such as Office Management, Hotel Management, Library Science, Southeast Asian Studies, etc. Postgraduate training has seen strong development in both scale and quality. Postgraduate training accounts for approximately 37% of the total regular training scale. Several postgraduate training programs at the University, such as Vietnamese Linguistics, Vietnamese Literature, Vietnamese History, and International Studies, attract many foreign universities.
With the goal of building a research university, from 2009 to the present, the university's staff have been assigned to lead 22 state-level research projects, 20 projects funded by Nafosted, and 180 projects at other levels. In 2013-2014, the university's staff published nearly 600 research papers, including 43 international publications. Five more faculty members were awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize and the State Prize for Science and Technology, bringing the total number of faculty members from the university who have received these prestigious science and technology awards to 24.
During the period 2009-2014, the University established and signed new agreements with 90 universities and international organizations. The University has 181 lecturers with doctoral degrees, accounting for 50.7%, and 89 lecturers who are professors or associate professors, accounting for nearly 25% of the total number of lecturers in the entire university.
